Archos 70 Xenon - Will not select Recovery with Volume Down.

Post by Html33 »

First post :)

I work at retailer store and they have sold of some of the EX-display models. I've purchased the Archos 70 Xenon and it's Demo mode.
I've worked with lots of Andorid systems (rooting etc) and this one does not seem anything out of the ordinary.

I can get into Recovery Mode by, Pressing & holding Volume + whilst powering up the device. Once done the boot menu comes up which gives me three optons;

[Recovery Mode]
[Fastboot Mode]
[Normal Boot]

Uing the Volume up, i can navigate through these three options, and apparently the Volume down is supposed to be a select, however Volume down on all three choices does nothing.

I know the button physically works as when in the Demo mode i can turn the volume up and down (and that is it!)

Once im into recovery mode the rest should be fairly simple (mind you, so should selecting this option!!!)

Thanks for all your help :)

A device that is running a demo firmware can't be used for any other usage than a demo.

The recovery mode is not working on this device as it is a demo device.

Kind Regards,

Must be a way around this :P

Cheers guys!
