Archos5IT "cant find initramfs.cpio.gz"

Post by lwwr1 »

I am new to the hacking game, and I have had a search of the forums but can not find an answer to this.

I am trying to update my Archos 5 to gingerbread. I have followed a tutorial from William Quade on YouTube and taken the following steps.

1. Installed SDE
2. Booted up in to developer mode and selected the flash kernel option.
3. Used the Ext2Fsd to mount the Archos
4. Copied across the zimage, gingerbread.img, initramfs.cpio.gz, and the required openaos files.
5. safely removed Archos
6. pressed done
7. it now comes up with the mentioned error. "can find initramfs.cpio.gz" will reboot.

I am not experienced at this at all and am really struggling to see what I am doing wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks
