No Video from DVR

Sorry I haven't been following the forums closely - so if this topic has been covered please help me find the thread that discussed this.

My DVR video stopped working last weekend.

I have in the past been able to pull video from the TV as well as display video on my TV - even streamed from my upstairs computer to the downstairs main TV without any issues.

I tried on 3 different TV's and it looks as if it just stopped allowing me to display video and I can't figure out if the DVR somehow is damaged or if it is my Archos 604wifi. It will show that the sound is being picked up when I try to record from TV, so I'm pretty sure I don't have my Input and Output mixed up. And the USB and charging features are still working.

Anyone had this issue?

I emailed Archos and they are wanting to set up an RMA and I really don't want to have to return my device until I know that it is really damaged. I was hoping for a little tech support, but the only option they have given me is to return the parts.

I just updated the firmware and will try again tonite, but I didn't see anything in the release notes that would make me believe that it would help this issue.

Here is a link that helps a bit with correct set-up of DVR station for certain users...it may or not help you because it sounds like your system was all fine until a certain point in time (loose cable somewhere - I'm sure you've checked for that!) Posting it, just on the off chance it might help you - or someone out there one day!

Only other thing I could suggest is that you cycle through the composite>S video>RGB>component etc. video input options on the Archos whilst it's in the DVR station and set-up to record as this sometimes seems to be problematic/often comes up and gets mentioned as a cure.

Thanks - I'll check that thread and see if I can do the cycling thing.

I didn't know that you could do that - so it's worth a shot.

Firmware and cycling didn't seem to help.

Would you think that it was the DVR unit that stopped functioning or something on the 604 unit? Trying to figure out what to send back... :cry:
