Screen Damaged - how do i access the PC mode?

Hi

I have a 704 wi-fi. The screen used to initally "white-out" a lot and work randomly when reset. I had enabled the Archos to "ask" for which mode it should use, when plugged into a PC. So I always had to "tap" the screen to select PC mode before it showed up as a hard drive on my computer.

Now my Archos screen is damaged beyond repair; i know the unit is on but i cannot select "PC mode" to recover the data on the PC.

Any ideas on how i can get my PC to recognise my 704?

Remove the hard drive and connect to the pc ;)
