YES!! Nice work! "Thank You jefi"
I tried install the Aldiko eBook Reader, because it is needed (no alternativs) for a german online library. The download works but the installation fails.
What I have already tried:
Installation with and without SD Card.
Install directly as apk from internal memory and SD Card.
Tried different Versions (2.0 from market and original from archos)
Always the same: Installation faild
(android installation fehlgeschlagen)
Who can help? THX

I've flashed my new Archos 70b with the BQ Firmware successfully yesterday, everything runs well. But I couldn't flash it with Windows7, cause Win7 always tries to look for necessary drivers trough the Internet. And a try to install it manually through zhe hardware management ("unkown device", then installing drivers manually) failed, it said: "driver not good for this platform".

So I grabbed an old Laptop with Windows XP on it, and the flash process went on without any problems, cause Windows XP allows to search for drivers manually much better.

Thanks for your work, Jefi!

What's your system? I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit and everything works very well. You should use the appropriate driver to the version of the system. You can download it here: http://www.arctablet.com/assets/tools/F ... 214043.zip. Alternatively, check out the port where the usb is connected to the tablet. Must be connected directly to a computer and not through USB hub.

Hi all,
Iam new archos 70b user. I bought this "nice tablet" :D last week with only about 15 USD. I was installing this firmware using XP, n work well. Sometimes my tablet turn off immediately if i run big proccess like opening large pdf file.
The user interface of this Froyo is better than d original firmware. I feel, it also reduce power consumption so can extend battery life. First booting take a long time at green robot, but the next boot is much faster than archos firmware.

Believe or not, this gadget is a better choice than g*l*x* t*b, as i feel :D

@madcrow: Do you have an WLAN connection? I had no problems with the market after flashing with Jefis firmware.

i have no problem with the market. There r some apps i have installed:
- 4shared
- 4shared music
- adobe reader
- eBuddy
- Gmail
- Opera Mini
- WritePad (using *.apk)
- flext9 (using *.apk)
- OnePunch Notes
- Remote RDP
- Remote Web Desktop
- Google translate
- etc :D

if u have clicked d install button at d app's page, u will be back to the app list automatically. In this case, i entered d app's page again n just wait the downlod (take much time at "starting download" caption) untill d apps successfully installed.

Youtube doesn't work

Post by longolong »

Unfortunately, Youtube doesn't work on my "new" archos/bq voltaire. Even when I turn it to have fullscreen mode, I do hear only the sound but have a black screen. Anyone who knows a solution?

Hi there,

After I┬┤ve received my 70b reader I┬┤ve flashed the BQ Voltaire Rom Android2.2. I┬┤ve already found some bugs.... hopefully someone can help me out.

- I was trying to install the Aldiko Ebook Reader.... without success. Everytime I try to install it throws an error "Installation was not successful (or something in that way)

- When the readers WLAN is turned on for one or two days sometimes it happens that the reader disconnects from the WLAN even if the WLAN is still activated and a accesspoint is reachable!? After deactivating and reactivating the WLAN everything works as usual??

I had a last question but I┬┤m already expecting the answer =/.... Is there a way to speed up the Reader 70b a little bit? I┬┤m just wondering because as I┬┤ve ordered the 70b I saw that the reader has a 600MHz CPU. If I compare it to other 600MHz smartphones the reader is very slow =/ so.... is there a way to push the speed a little bit?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

with best regards
Flo!
