About Appslib : now I have the same release than Cajl.

Have you got an idea about my problem with thumbnails in music or video player when the file is launched from the "files" app ? Is it a bug or a wish of Archos team ?
when launched from the "files" app the music and video experience is limited and does not offer all features. Some stuff like setting bookmarks was left in the ui by accident, but is being removed.

Run into this more than once this weekend...

While connected via Wifi for several hours, the A5A will lose its internet connection. Stopping, restarting Wifi will not fix, but a reboot will. Kind of annoying. While this was happening, I had the A5A set not to go to sleep and it was plugged in to power via the battery dock.

Honestly I don't understand this choice : the main interest of Android is in its lot of apps. Therefore it's very important for consummer to have the best and simpliest environnement as possible and then to access to all musics, videos or photos from the archos player ! (MyPod, PodKast - for axample - create their own folders...)

Deux options for that : either you give all media functions in the Archos player when launched from archos "files" app, or you allow to access to all files directly from the archos player (photo, audio, video). The second choice is obviously the best one !

I know you can't scan all hard disk by the ArcLibrairy (hard disk up to 500Go...) but it's not important : just scan archos media folders BUT allow to access (with the included files manager of the archos media widget) to all folders on the hard drive...

i second the loss of wifi, i often stream though my network which has always been bullet proof on the a5a - last night i had to pull out the old 5 to finish streaming.
it seems that amc hangs as when you try reboot it has a force stop window appear - maybe this is the problem??.
as map said it seems to happen after extended time connected - then you have no choice but to reboot - the machine becomes very laggy and unresponsive in amc. android seems fine though when you go back to the home screen but without any wifi.

Hitting really big lags, especially when playing streaming h264 video from the internet via the AMC. Taps take almost a minute to process at times. Occasionally soft reboots during the videos, going to the Android boot screen and back to the home screen while the AMC is still playing the audio, but the AMC is not in the task bar or appearing as a task when holding down the home button.

gotcha!! lol
upnp for me mate, not tried samba share yet, i will have a go when i get the nas drive back on line.
still seems pretty random atm, i can watch a good few hours then all of a sudden it locks up, seems to be its losing the wifi connection and this makes amc freeze up, and as map002 said it starts to lag taking around a min to select anything. a reboot solves this problem - ive not let it so far do a soft reboot as ive always hit the power button when this happens - next time it occurs i will let it do that and see if wifi returns.

And then there's this...

Image

Actually, this one is pretty mild with only one button mostly missing. A moment before I took this, there were no buttons on the far right (black space instead) and all three buttons were on the far left. :D

Happens several times a day.

BTW, Samba streaming seems to be OK for the most part, but have had 3 videos stop playing for a minute or so (paused screen) and then and give me a corrupt data error. WiFi was still showing as connected throughout. I just restarted the videos playing and skipped to a minute before they crashed and they all played through fine until the end.

Also, a few more spontaneous reboots at least twice when the A5A was doing nothing but sitting plugged ion to USB power but not mounted and running no extra apps, just sitting on the home screen. Never had that happen until this beta.

This FW seems to be getting more and more unstable for me as the days pass...

The changelog says : "Appslib: version 1.1.6b2 of appslib is installed at firmware upgrade" and you are still in 1.1.6 built 2.

No change for you but it forces those who never update to do it.

Yup, my A5A is still on AppsLib 1.15 (build 1) after the beta and the .95 release FW.

I guess the forced AppsLib update will have to wait for the next FW.
