Ainol Novo 7 Aurora: ICS, IPS Screen, 1 GB DDR3

Post by zandoli »

Seems like a decent competitor in the 7" market.

It does not come with market pre-installed but can be installed with script from developer community.
Spellmall claims that all their tablets have the Android Market pre-installed ... arket.html

There were some issues with Flash on ICS but I believe that has been fixed with 11.1

-CPU: All Winner A10, 1.2GHz; supports up to 1.5 GHz
-GPU: Mali 400
-Screen: capactive, IPS, 1024 x 600, 5 point touch
-Capacity: 8GB, 16GB available, micoSD card support
-plays many containers/codecs

-no GPS
-no Bluetooth

Ships from China ... RAM_g.html ... urora.aspx

Seems to be running much better than the 70b Honeycomb Tablet
I am actually thinking of getting one.

Interesting, thanks for the info. Price is right, but I wonder if it will get much love from the dev community.
Haven't researched, but looks like the processor might be a bit of a question mark?

The processor is built on the Cortex-A8 architecture. That means that the SoC is the (roughly) the same as the TI OMAP 3 series, but clocked higher (the OMAP 3 were in the Archos Gen8 lineup). So the SoC on this device is pretty far from impressive.

Definitely doesn't look like a bad tablet for ~$170 USD though.

Just got the Ainol novo 7 Aurora from SpeMall, it's far more better than the Elf and it's also for $169.99 shipped now...
All i want to say is: SpeMall is a reliable place for us to get cheap tablets from China, i like the way they do business. they respose all of my questions promptly and politely, and the communication on facebook was very helpful. And it seems these guys have a good renationship with Ainol company(i've got some info from their facebook page). Just satisfied with their product and service!
I also followed spemall on twitter and they posted up a picture of 500 units that arrived a few days ago. Go online at about 1-2pm and I find you can usually talk live online to someone. And here you can see a video for Aurora stock from their site. Expedited delivery for me was a week but that had Easter in there so 3-4 days I reckon.
Hope you all get your beloved tablet soon!
