Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Hello NZ
Please could you tell me if with new FW is now possible:
1) put user-name and password autentication on proxy. I can't use my ARCHOS in office because Wi-fi need a) wi-fi autentication and b) proxy autentication.
2) is the full screen mode activated ? is it possible to disappear menu android buttons (sidebar) to see games and videos in full screen ?
thanks

Still no update on the dead usb issues for the A101?
**Updated from 2.3.20 with no issues, host port still dead.
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Yippie, I snagged it OTA and it appears to work (pandora and all). Thanks Archos.

Re: new firmware 2.3.26
My A101 updated about 10 minutes ago without any issues. But I didn't have any problems with 2.3.20 except the WiFi channel problem, so I don't expect to have any problem this times.
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
After updating there was no lag because Ogg Vorbis playback was totally non-functional, though mp3 and m4a worked fine.Application: solve music lag in applications using OGG format
Fortunately another reboot and Ogg Vorbis playback is normal again. Reminds me of when I ran Windows 98. I never thought I'd be be running a Linux based system that requires frequent reboots just to carry on doing what it was doing before.....surely MS has a patent on this and will soon be suing Google for infringing on its IP.
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Blackberry tether works now!
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Thanks NZ! I've installed it on my 70it(hard drive), 43it, and 32it. All seem to work fine still.
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
What about the Bulgarian subs in the video player? Are they fixed ? With 2.3.20 I need to select Russion in order to display Bulgarian subtitles correctly. Otherwise I see symbolsnz wrote:http://update.archos.com/8/gen8/gen8_2. ... d_gen8.aos

Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Various audio apps are still crippled by this firmware, as with 2.3.20. These all worked fine under 2.1.08. But now my A32 goes into deep sleep after the screen times out even if Google Listen is still playing a podcast. Same thing happens with MediaFly OnAir.
Re: new firmware 2.3.26
Archos, thanks keeping update~

Try this temp solution, Wakelocker app: http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.p ... 01#p203801PoisonBinky wrote:Various audio apps are still crippled by this firmware, as with 2.3.20. Re: new firmware 2.3.26 - report bugs here
I got a firmware update offered OTA too. Since it's non downgradable, I'm waiting on more people to tell me that it doesn't break Pandora, before installing it.
My primary uses for the 43 are:
- Bluetooth DUN tethering to MotoRazr2 v9
- Opera Mini
- Catch Notes
- Gmail
- Google Calender
- Pandora
- Angry Birds
Anyone able to confirm normal functionality of any/all of the above?

Re: new firmware 2.3.26 - report bugs here
Regarding deepsleep - is the new functionality that the firmware's old "deep sleep when poweroff" setting overrides all apps, including Google Listen? And if unchecked, Google Listen and other apps work normally?
If so, that is great news. While it was convenient that Pandora could override "deep sleep when poweroff", I prefer that no apps have that ability. Every now and then I find some random app blocks me from deep sleep and kills the 43's battery. I'd be more than willing to uncheck the box each time I plan to use Pandora, in exchange for a true "unstoppable deep sleep".

Thanks Charbax. I briefly tried that but it wasn't quite what I wanted so I wrote my own yesterday. I whipped up a quick icon-sized widget to toggle a CPU wakelock on and off with a tap (with a 3hr timer in case I forget to turn it off). It works but I'm annoyed I had to do it when all this stuff worked correctly two firmwares ago. Grrrr!
