Gmini XS200 'Cannot read Hard Drive' !!

Post by Roy J »

This may be an error encountered before, but for a non-techy guy
can anyone tell me what I can do to get it up and running again...
Basically the mp3 stopped working once I returned from holiday
with the message 'read access error' 'cannot read hard drive'....
A basic step by step guide would be great if anyone can help...
Seen on a few forums this has happened before to other people
so please help !

Can you detect it when you connect it to your computer?

Maybe you can run a disc checking using Windows. Go in Start, Programs, Accessories, Utilities, Disk Cleanup, and point to your Gmini200 hard disk drive.

If not you might want to phone Archos customer support service and see if they can help. And if you figure something out to fix your problem, you can post the solution here.

I tried it once to connect to my PC but it did not work.
I will try again this evening, and see what happens.
I assume if it does not I will not be able to do the Disk CleanUp ?
I will come back to you and ring Archos !!

Just to let everyone know I eventually sent
my mp3 to archos, who sent it to the technical
people in France, the HO I assume....
It came back a few weeks later, all stored music was lost
but mp3 works fine and at no costs !!
