Touchscreen phantom inputs

Hello.
I've got a small problem with my Archos XS touchscreen that is driving me around the bend!
Every now and then the bottom right of the screen detects a touch even when I have not touched the screen. It is causeing apps to close and the screen to jump when scrolling.
Is there a way I can disable the bottom right part of the touch screen to preven this?

This was discussed a lot in the generation 9 section in this forum. Some had some luck with something like android resets, but I think for most folks it gets worse over time. In the meantime, sometimes it helps to turn the device 90 degrees just to get the hotspot over something else.
