I have a 40 MB Archos AV700 which has just 3,644 MB free space. In a Folder called FOUND.000, there are 125 CHK files and in another folder called FOUND.001, there are 72 CHK files. As space is at a premium, can I delete these folders/files to create space? What exactly are CHK files and how are they created please? Thanks.
Yes, they are a waste of space and can be deleted. They are created by doing checkdisk operations and saving any corrupted files. If you know what the files or their sizes were sometimes you can see/play them by renaming them to the original jpg or avi extension, providing the corruption was not too serious.
