Yup, 32 GB is the max, for as far as I know (but it's a forum, so other people will tell more).
Why a class 10? It'll cost you way more than a 'normal' class 4.
For video, audio, epub/pdf, install files, pics it's enough to use a class 4. Saves you around 20 euros.

Me myself, I'm using a Kingston 32 GB class 4 microsd.

32GB is the max with SDHC; there are rumours that a future firmware upgrade might support the SDXC format, but don't hold your breath (and it might not be possible to solve this by firmware changes).

I use a 16GB class 10 Lexar card: no problems at all. (I might not need the speed, I'm not sure if the G9 can take advantage of it - but it means I can transfer data to/from the card fast when I'm using a suitable USB adaptor to plug the card into my laptop.)
