archos is not big in the uk,,only internet sites amazon and others sell it,,,biggest outlets uk currys dixons ect sell samsung asus and so on not archos!

My 80 G9 Turbo (16Gb) just arrived, ordered from the Archos (USA) store. I can confirm that it does indeed have the bubble effect on the screen.

However, In the short time I've been messing around with the tablet, I don't seem to squeeze it or grab it in the spot (near the USB connector) that makes the effect happen. While not optimal, I personally don't feel it's worth trying to return/exchange it. I'll post an update in the "owners feedback" thread after I've had more time to use the tablet under "normal" day-to-day operation to see if that changes my opinion.

So my local HMV and Currys dont have an Archos 80 16g on display, and i havent bought my last 2 Archos devices from Currys then.

I know Archos doesn't care whether I buy it's tablet or not..., but I've got enough waiting .There is Asus Prime on the horizon and I ordered one and I know I'm not only one who decided buy different tablet instead of Archos product due to it's delay . It's a pity that whole excitement around announced wonderful product fell down like a wreath dust and people's love ends up as disappointment if not hatred sometimes .
I don't want to blame Archos for failure because I've heard about TI processors delay but it's understanding to me that Archos should be more clear with current and potential fans and customers. I am not shy of saying I fell in love with Archos 1,5 Ghz . I dreamed of it and I couldn't wait for it . But the more I waited the more I was disappointed and now it is time to say goodbye Archos - at least for now because I never say never . Instead to be proud owner of OMAP 4460 I stand under TEGRA3 flag and only for this I blame You Archos . Ta .

Newegg now has the Archos 80 G9 TURBO 1.2GHz for $300. Too expensive for me.

There are some, Archos did a few press releases a few days about it. It may just be limited to a few resellers, maybe only in France for now.

We don't know everything. However, knowing Archos, new devices can fall just out of the air. We got some mysterous 4GB 101IT for example(which actually is 8GB). We got 10b waterproof vision selling at various shops and some Arnova cases from Archos are also floating around the web. The 35IT was suddenly released in Russia. So, we don't know where the 1.5Ghz devices will be available first.

And about that website - the shop has them in stock at the supplier and you will get it tomorrow if you order it now. However, it's the 1.2Ghz version, see my previous post about product codes:

They replaced the 1500 Mhz with 1200 Mhz. They probably got some angry customers on the line.

Well I'm new to these boards, and I was planning on getting the Turbo model, but it looks like there will no reason to if the 1.5 "plus" model is on the horizon...how much longer must we wait?! haha
