USB Devices that work - a list

Post by AllenPapapetrou »

Please use this sticky topic for USB devices which work. Include:

1. Device Name:
2. Device Source: retailer
3. Gen8 Models Used:

Please don't include USB Host Cables/Adapters since we already have a topic for those.

Thanks,

Allen

1) Transcend P5 9-in-1 USB Card Reader
2) Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NS ... ss_product
3) 70- 250gb model

As mentioned originally by butterflygirl, I ordered and can confirm it will work on the A70 250gb model without any extra power needed.

So far I've plugged in my Canon DSLR (40D) and can view the photos on the CF card and a Sanyo CG10 video and able to view the files on the SD card.

Out of 3 USB memory sticks I've got I can only access one of those, which happens to be the most recent one I've got, but was a giveaway from a supplier.

Hello Vespernova7,
You Wrote that the "Targus persenter with mouse control" and the "Generic PC remote for windows" works with the Archos 70. I am very surprised about that! :D

What can you do with those devices?
What works with which controller?

? Controlling a Music Player?
- Play
- Pause
- FFwd
- RWND
- Volume?

? controlling a Powerpoint Presentation?

? anything else?

Thanks,
Sigi

1. Flexible USB keyboard (free)
2. Merimobiles.com
3. A70-8

With this keyboard and a BT mouse (I got on eBay) the A70 could be a viable alternative to a netbook, laptop or even the A9, on travel.

both work as a mouse with android. the pc remote also has volume and arrow key controls. the play buttons do not work, and needs an external power source like the external harddrives with the a70. I couldn't test the presenter fuction with the Tragus as I have no powerpoint program on my a70. the remote has potential but would need a program written for it just like the wiimote.

1.Super Mini USB Keyboard, Black
2. Amazon.com
3. Archos 70s

connected using adapter sold by this guy, if you are Indonesians, he maybe your only hope, aside from buying Nokia N8. The keyboard cable is too long, I am planning to cut it off (maybe connecting it with the micro end directly?)

If only I can find jackets that can fit the keyboard and the archos together....

What device are you using. I bought my 70it HD to download pictures on the fly, and after seeing your post I assumed it would work. Just seeing what options I have.

1 Corsair Flash Survivor 16GB Pen Drive
2 Amazon.co.uk
3 Archos 70 8GB
This pen drive connects if external power is used. It is available in several sizes. I have only tried the 16GB :)

You mean that it doesn't work with no external power (using only the USB micro B/A Host adapter and plug the Pen Drive)?

Has anyone tried a USB Pen Drive that works with no external power?

Re Corsair Survivor 16GB
Yes it only seems to work with external power supplied. I do have one pen drive that appears to work with just a host cable. It is a Transcend 8GB model JFV10. It is an older model and I do not know if it is still available, so did not list it.

Amazon.co.uk still have the Transcend JFV10 models via their market place sellers, I have ordered a 16GB version to try. Will post again if it works w/o external power. There is also a newer JFV15 model, if someone is willing to try it.

I confirm that the following device worked (with NO external power supply)

1. Transcend P6 - Card reader
2. Local Greek Retailer : Plaisio (http://www.plaisio.gr)
3. A70

The card-reader is this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-P6-microSD-microSDHC-Hi-Speed/dp/B001C29W2C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1300879600&sr=8-1

I tried the card-reader with M2 (Memory Stick) and micro SD. Both cards recognized immediately with no external power.
