Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
I have the SDE installed. Do I update to the regular downloaded firmware, or do I have to got through the SDE install again?
Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
You can just update the firmware.
However if you update firmware, you will probably lose root if you have it right now.
Also I'm not sure about what will happen to the expanded data partition (from my guide) if you have that. I do believe that it will get wiped, so you might want to either wait until I try it later, or ensure that you back up your apps and data before advancing with the firmware update.

OK. I'm going to wait for now then. I have a 2gb Partition on my 8gb 101, and I don't really have an firmware issues. Let me know when you do try an update.Harfainx wrote:You can just update the firmware.

WOW... A new update comes when my device breaks, well hopefully soon i will be getting an A32, or A43.
Is it still Froyo

Still FroYo
Chulri has mentioned already that he will be releasing root for the new firmware either today or tomorrow.
If you're currently rooted, I would suggest holding off on the update until a root method is out, because you will probably lose root in the update.

Has anyone updated yet? When I check on my device it says I have latest firmware, but it is not 2.4.19?

Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
I'm at work for another 7 hours, so I can't update for a while.
If you just update, you should keep what you have, other than root (probably). Your Market and other apps should stay there.
If you checked from your device for updates, it might just not show up yet. Download the file directly to your PC and transfer it over, then it should update.

update works.
Skype video is more than acceptable, but audio is distorted a bit.
@taylorabc:
if you have uruk, then it doesn't matter, if you use chulris root, you neet to wait.
but even then the partition itself won't be erased, only the connection to it.

Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
For those wondering about "improved UI fluidity" this means that we found a way to drive the SGX 3D engine at 220MHz instead of 166MHz which boosts the performance up.
Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
I worry about that because the device checks the integrity of the drive before it updates.FZelle wrote:but even then the partition itself won't be erased, only the connection to it.
Whenever I've done a repair it has reformated the drive size and erased my data partition.
Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
Skype video and voice pretty good now.
Thanks Archos!

I followed Harfainx's Guide, which includes Chulri's Root.FZelle wrote:update works.

Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
-Skype video is working
-my videos that started to play very pixelated when I installed 2.3.20 and have played that way since then are now playing fine (these were .avi cintainer files with mp3 codec)
-Everything else seems to be stable so far. The last firmware I had 2 white sceens the first day and then never again, haven't had any this time.
Seems very stable so far, we'll see after a few days of running it.

I have not used the default launcher for a few firmwares, went back and it does seem a little smoother, now I am back on Zeam launcher though just because stock is still sluggish compared to zeam. When I load a game and let it run for a while and then go back home screen, launchers still have to reload the icons and still takes a few seconds to do that, but quicker than the last firmware (maybe about 2 seconds quicker reload). Does this with stock, zeam, and ADW for me. I don't even run any widgets on my home screens.bragon wrote:For those wondering about "improved UI fluidity" this means that we found a way to drive the SGX 3D engine at 220MHz instead of 166MHz which boosts the performance up.

Has anyone been able to test the ac3 codec yet? I didn't upadate to 2.3.81 (still 2.3.26) 'cause of the codec. I think I'll hold the 2.3.26 for a while.

Do you use a task manager? By default, the Android internal process manager won't kill the launcher unless absolutely necessary.MarcusMarcus wrote:When I load a game and let it run for a while and then go back home screen, launchers still have to reload the icons and still takes a few seconds to do that, but quicker than the last firmware (maybe about 2 seconds quicker reload). I only use the stock launcher these days, and mine never has to reload, but I also only use the built-in Archos Task Manager.

Re: Firmware 2.4.19 released - report bugs here
No task manager for me, Used one once months ago and realized android runs better without a third party task manager (at least for me). Maybe a reformat and reinstalled would fix it, but seeing as that is the only issue I am seeing right now, I wont be doing that, I don't mind waiting a few seconds.Harfainx wrote:Do you use a task manager?
