UrukDroid (internal install) wipe/overclock question

Post by Venn »

Hello and first off, fantastic fourm!

This might be a simple question but my Google-Fu must be slipping.

I was bit by the glitchy (navigation) animation bug after yesterdays update. So, I finally broke down and installed the latest urukdroid on the internal storage. One word, nifty! It's genuinely like getting a new device :)

I was wondering how one goes about installing the overclock kernel? I have no problem /w/ formatting the device if need be.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Venn

No need to wipe. Download the kernel and simply move to /data/urukupdate. You need SU access for this. If you installed 1.1 or greater you will see urukconfig messages in the status bar. Reboot when prompted to load new kernel.

If you are using Uruk 1.5 - donwload 1.5.1 or 1.6B1 kernel with OC in name and give it a try. Put the file do update folder and that's it.
Latest file you can use (this one is recomended) is here: http://sauron.pourix.com/UrukDroid/UrukDroid-1.6/ (it's compatible with 1.5 and it has UnderVoltage patch).
How to do this: http://code.google.com/p/urukdroid/wiki/UrukPackages

And remember - OC does not have to work for all (it's CPU dependant).
