Followed tips from the video/posts. No dice. Still can't see Maps or LauncherPro in the market. Not a huge deal as I have LauncherPro in APK form here already. As long as I have basic market access I'm fine but it would be nice to have full market at some point, which I'm assuming will come with root access and custom roms.
Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa
this did not work for me. The market still does not display "slingplayer mobile" or "graffiti for android". Do these apps show up in any of your markets? According to the appmonster app on my phone these two apps are designated as "protected", and all of the "protected" apps that I searched for in the market on my A70 do not show up.skipol wrote:

I have slingplayer working but you have to side load it....probably the same with your other "protected" apps.rock70 wrote: this did not work for me. Just do a google search for slingplayer.apk. If not send me a PM. BTW the slingplayer works great.
Cheers!

Thanks to ef98dpa for getting YouTube working again!

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa
Thanks for all the work on this.
Tried Slingplayer in market. Did not work.
Since install of market and reset as recommended via youtube video, adobe flash 10.1 no longer works nor does flash player.
cannot uninstall and cannot install. youtube error says " package file was not signed correctly "

call me a newbee re: archos 70.. got mine last week .. also own a droid 2 phone from verizon.
QUESTION: can someone explain how to do a side load of an app. I assume that means you somehow
pull the .apk file from the phone and place it on the archos 70 sdcard for later install. But how if your
devices are not rooted?

Giant fail trying to repackage the gapps4archos2.apk.... Gave it my best shot.
However, I can also confirm that the orig package + the commands to remove/readd youtube (few posts back) work perfectly. Still don't have 100% market apps, but close enough for now.

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa
The info provided by this forum is great! You folks rock.
I have Market loaded and was able to remedy the You Tube glitch. I think my Market is the old version even though I downloaded a newer .apk and used Terminal Emulator to copy it to the app folder. There appears to be a protection feature preventing an overwrite or deletion. The Vending.apk in the app directory is listed as "0Vending" (764.12 K), version 1.82.
Am I using the newest Vendor.apk? When I search Market for Flash Player 10.1 there are no results, so I cannot get flash.
Any suggestions?

I know. I installed the installer. Then I ran the installer and it said that the google application were downloaded. And in the list of app, it shows up. But when I click on "Market" it goes to a blank screen, then goes back...FZelle wrote:@Jos_mp12:
The APK installs the Market Installer.
After Install you have to run the app once, than the thing is working.

Hello,m4rk3t wrote: http://rapidshare.com/files/434229115/gApps4Archos2.apk
Enjoy!
I'm having trouble using the RapidShare.com website on my Archos 70 Internet Tablet, especially in landscape mode. While the page displays, when I scroll around nothing new appears. While I can rotate the device and see in 4x3 mode, the "free" button doesn't function. You can press it, but it won't respond. I did validate the "free" button does work on say a Windows desktop / workstation system.
I have a paid pro Rapidshare account and was able to log into the site successfully and use the Pro button, but still couldn't get the free one to work.
Anyone else seen problem on this website with the Archos 70 IT browser?

If YouTube fails to install from the market, I assume you've installed the gApps4Archos2.apk.
To fix this, connect your Archos to your computer and head over to your ADB. Or you can start from the OR line if you want to use Terminal Emulator.
adb shell
rm /data/test/froyo/system/app/YouTube.apk
Reboot your Archos
Go back to the market, search for YouTube
Install
OR
Download Terminal Emulator and just type in the "rm..." line, then reboot, and download from the market.

It works for me.
Several notable Google applications now show up for me![]()
I have summarized the steps so I can save everyone 9 minutes of their life.![]()
Go to: Settings->Applications->Manage Applications
Running Tab->"Market"->Clear Cache->Force Stop
Running Tab->"Google Services Framework"->Clear Data->Force Stop
Reboot

Search "YouTube" in the Market (not AppsLib), it should be the very first thing that comes up.
At least it does for me. I'm in the US, I'm not sure if that matters.

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa
Hi All,
I updated my A70 to 2.2 I installed the market apk and I installed flash and the rest of my apps.
When I tested my system flash and youtube wasn't working, the system it self seemed to really bog down.
So I decided to uninstall the google apps using the new apk, after that my system was
much faster and youtube worked after I sideloaded it. Flash worked as well.
It works flawlessly.
Right now I do not trust the new market hack.
My suggestion is to install it and get the apps you want and uninstall Google apps.
Kinda of bummer.

ADB? I'm sorry but I don't know this term... Well, I do know it from work, but doubt its the same ... ADB isn't the Asian Development Bank, right? LOL !Harfainx wrote:If YouTube fails to install from the market, I assume you've installed the gApps4Archos2.apk.
