I'm building a fresh install app and its almost done. With this one, put the apps.zip on your internal memory and run the apk app... It'll copy its contents to the froyo directory.

This way you can use my zip our build your own.

I can't seem to login to the market with my google account. It says "Can't establish a reliable data connectoin to the server"

any suggestions on this?
Got it... somehow it went through...

I'm not getting the parse error and I'm downloading using the browser. However, when I check my "downloads" window in the browser, I first see a gapps4archos2.apk that is only 6kbytes or so. When I deleted that one, it was replaced by one that was 10MB and that one loaded fine. It's possible that the website is doing funny things with the download, so that you're not getting the complete file on the first go.

YouTube is still quitting on open, though. "Manage applications" is telling me the installed version of YouTube is 1.6.21. Trying to install a version of YouTube from the Market is unsuccessful. Trying to uninstall YouTube is not possible because the only way to do so is to uninstall all the Google apps using gapps4archos. Any ideas?

Followed the instructions here:

Tried to install YouTube 2.0.26 from Market. Keep getting "Installation unsuccessful."

Love Better Terminal Emulator Pro, though.

do we have a good apk yet? I see a bunch of links in here but is sounds like all of them have some issue with outdated files... is there a version with up to date files?

Secondly, Reboot after delete old YouTube. and install New YouTube from Market.

Finally,ÒÇÇtry reading all articles in this Forum from the beginning.

Folks - just to clarify, are you doing a full wipe before installing the new GApp4Archos apk? I've tried over and over to install the new gapps and every time, after a reboot the market just opens and closes right away on me. I tried installing all the google apps, uninstalling Gapps4archos then reinstalling... nothing. Market still won't fire up.

Thoughts?

I had the same problem Law. I tried to install the gapps manually without a gApps4Archos (before one was made). I did a full reformat to fix the problem.

I suppose I could have just removed all of the manually installed apps, but I was having a few other minor bugs, so I decided to fully wipe.

Harfanx - can you quickly tell me how to do a full wipe? Or maybe share a link?

The app is done and I can copy from the pre-packaged files or select from a custom apps.zip file. I'm lastly trying to fix a permission issue with the copied files  It's setting the files as -rw------ and rebooting wont load them... grr....

Hopefully I'll get it fixed and ready for you all soon!

I installed gApps4Archos2.apk (the link given at the beginning of this topic) yesterday night, I had updated from android 2.1 to 2.2 the day before, and my A70 froze two times this morning (I had to hard reset it).

I hate to sound repetitive, but we need one locked thread for all of these links and booting, tweeking, etc ideas.. they seem to be scattered all over the place. I think it would make things easier for everyone.

but it needs to be locked to avoid valid venting being posted. there.

what do you think Charbax?

donnellb wrote:I'm at work so I cannot test. Are you loading it from internal memory or through the browser on the Archos. Caus I think the parsing error happens when you download it via the browser. It doesn't download the whole file. Download it from a PC then copy it over to the Archos. See if that Works. Mine is running slow as crap. I will be doing the recovery install the minute I get home.
You are absolutely right...I solved my problem by holding the download link and selecting "save link as" I was able to sucessfully install Spanish's updated apk ( http://www.zshare.net/download/83414588ef03b64b) and got all the google apps after a quick reboot. Youtube didn't work initially but all I had to do is select the update in the market and it sucessfully installed. It was easy peasy...and I also did the full market hack as seen in that video that is circulating around the forum, it worked well.
I am very happy with my fully updated A70. Now if only someone can figure out how to root this thing and add the the adhoc workaround in the next month, I would be all set for my upcoming Honeymoon road-trip to Disney World.
