Testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space inside
Re: Testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space inside
The official update is coming tonight: http://forum.androidcentral.com/android ... 1-a-4.html
Re: Testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space inside
Why? Because someone posted an E-mail, that may or may not be actually quoted?Gerke wrote:The official update is coming tonight: http://forum.androidcentral.com/android ... 1-a-4.html
I would love to be wrong, but generally Archos doesn't just tell people flat-out when firmware will be released via E-mail.
Sorry, but I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Aldiko 1.2. 10 does not work correctly. Neither does 14 on android market. Both cut off right edge in landscape.Charbax wrote:It was a piece of cake for the Aldiko programmers to provide fully compatible version of Aldiko in the AppsLib, guys like Amazon, Sony, Nook surely should take the 5 minutes and make sure their apps are AppsLib compatible. As e-reader apps are probably one of the main type of apps that need to be checked for scaling on tablets.
As for the rest, in Gen7 Archos has a full screen mode hiding Android buttons behind short power press, the same option will probably be provided here. resizable, "floating" android button option could be cool.
Nook works just put your Epub books in the correct subfolder.

I WANT MY FROZEN YOGURT DANG IT!!!!!!!!! SO SICK OF THIS SNAIL!!!!!!!! I had an old greenlit nokia they ran snake better. Impressed but disappointed. They said it shipped with frozen yogurt. They didn't promise it still frozen tho. Since Oct. 23 I've been playing with 'eclair', which sounds like grandmas bunyon cream. Wouldn't mind root however. But whatever. 23 until my 32 is frozen. If not... it has to go back.

what i do give notice to regarding this email that someone has posted to AndroidCentral is, it was responded from a worker at Archos named "Eva L".
Eva L responded to a user on this forum 8 days ago regarding something about his shipment and payment. maybe this email crafter knew that when he fashioned this email, i don't know, but... Eva L is most likely a legitimate Archos employee.

Good we have threads like this so people can handle their anger management here and not out in the real world...chul wrote:another prepubertal toy fanatic has arrived, hurraay!

Lol Archos did not dissapoint and kept to their word this time, hopefully the bitching can now stop and the fun begin
Just herd that archos was facing financial troubles prior to the release of these new tablets maybe we should now start to spread a positive message about archos once the testing of froyo on our tablets has begun, because most of the info out there is just biased nonsense mostly regarding froyo..

How do you install it? The latest instructions on the support page are for Archos 5's.

Re: Testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space inside
how long did it take to do the update?EvolvedFire wrote:copy onto your device

Re: Testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space inside
minutes - if one... literally like 20 seconds + reboot time
copy it to the ROOT of your internal memory via USB, not WiFi, not sd card and no folders.
then disconnect the usb, when you unplug it it rescans the card, sees the update and recommends you run it. you will need to plug into DC power to finish it.

You can also go to the archos website on your tablet (just click on the link above with the .AOS file) and download the update file to your archos (via wifi works fine
) , then when the 78 mb is downloaded click on the file and it will ask you if it should update, press YES!
(don't forget to have your power plug nearby..)
No pc needed, that's real tablet power

Excited it's released but I think I'll wait and let some of you be the guinea pigs to make sure the process goes smooth! I know there's some here who won't wait at all.
