Archos 43 vision

Post by rjacobson »

Hello all,

I'm a bit confused about the 43 vision. It appears to have been released already, but I can't find it on sale anywhere.

Does anyone know when and I how I can purchase one?

Well, it just came out in Europe (Belgium) and I bought it for just Ôé¼99. The design looks really neat! :O

The touchscreen is sometimes a little bit unresponsive but it's really nice for such a low price. Maybe I'll buy an archos 5 / 7 tablet in the near future <3

asda sell it online and argos do it instore, but to be honest it is very basic.

It wouldn't play mpeg 2 formats, there is no mpeg 2 / dvd plugin to make it more compatible. the screen is not very bright, the touch screen is pretty poor, I had to use it with a stylus to get it to work fairly well.
On paper it is great, it was my first archos device, I was very worried about buying it as they (archos) get quite a slating.
it went wrong inside 4 weeks and I got my money back.

I now have an A5 It 32GB, 1st one got 4 dead pixels inside 3 weeks and returned it. and very happy with it except I can't play youtube, bbc iplayer or itv player. But I did get it for video playback mainly. and it excells at it! but now thinking of changing it for the 43 IT, if it is for web use, it should work on the web!!!

The only good thing about the Archos 43 vision is its fantastic SQ, it pisses all over my new Archos 43IT which in comparison has very mediocre SQ.

SQ? Would that stand for sound quality? I am thinking of getting 43IT in the future, but if it has mediocre quality in audio playback(which to me is quite a big deal), then i might just pass. And yes, vision has a superb audio reproduction. The software and the touchscreen performance are pretty poor, on the other hand. I wonder if there is a firmware update coming up sometime in the future. This device could do with an update, pronto.
