JBMM reviews the Archos 43 Vision

Post by Charbax »

Here's Archos new 4.3" Vision line for bringing a cheap basic PMP to the market. Posted to JBMM.fr.

Image

It comes with the Rockchip RK2706 processor, a 4.3" basic 480x272 LCD touch screen with touch screen basic PMP interfaces, TV output support on the mini-jack, supports basically all video and audio formats for free without the need to buy plugins.

Most importantly the Archos 43 Vision is to be sold between 99Ôé¼ and 129Ôé¼ in European countries, my guess between $99 and $129 in the USA. Prices to be confirmed.

Thank goodness they have at least one line not going to the wasteful fat bezel kind of frame. It's idiotic to waste space just because some slobs want a place to rest their thumbs without greasing up the screen. Thumbs can hold on the side edge, or be washed... or for those who refuse, be amputated (grin).

It's a Latte Cafe. And you could have gotten a 32gb version if you bought it from them. Both are a rebranded Chinese MP4 player. Look familiar? : http://www.lattefone.com/newproduct/pmp_cafe.html

We know it's a Ramos device. The reason why we would buy the Archos version over the Latte one, isn't for the capacity really, it's for the OS and the wide range of formats it plays.

Is this Archos 4.3 REALLY a Latte.or a Ramos ..If YES!!!! why wait for this to show up in the U.S.???? Why pay more for ARCHOS name if it is RAMOS???ALL I want is an mp3 player primarily for audio books. The Vision 3 was fine..except for a small (3.0") screen.. IF the Archos 4.3 is basically the same (or better) than the Vision 3.I will wait..or maybe even purchase frim Canada. The RESUME play is very impt. to me in Audio Books..ANY comment are welcome...JIM

I'm finding that DIVX's played off the SD card are unwatchable. If I copy same movie to inbuilt memory it is fine. I wish they had the option to copy files from the SD to inbuilt memory so I could do that as a work around.

Not that happy with this product.

That looks like quite a tablet! I've never used Archos before, but I've heard some pretty great things about em'. Most of what I've heard is that it's pretty versatile for the price. Is it as good as, let's say, an iPad or close to the quality of an iPad? Where, may I ask, can I find this particular tablet? Can Archos products be purchased at places like hh gregg? Or can Archos tablets only be purchased online?

Thanks, everyone! :)

I had the same problem, videos came out all pixelated and distorted. The solution is to remove the memory card and put it back again. it works every time.
