Does it change anything in the daily work? I continue to experience the same problems every day (with 2.0.38). Constant freezing, Wi-Fi stops working when the router in 108 Mbps (channel 6) mode, when stopping the FM-radio, the device has to be restarted, because everything is dead. Otherwise, nice device. It seems, I'm getting masochistic using Archos 5 IT 32GB.

W00-H00, The broken MKVs I have now work and now to try the MP4s.
It would have been glorious if it would have been an OS update too, but ah well. =D>

This is great ! I have to wait until tonight to try it, though. I thought Archos had given up on us.

MPEG-2 in MKV works perfectly now. Even vobsub and DTS audio works.

Great job nz!

Really happy with the library file limitation being increased for us crazy people who have more music than we'll ever listen to. Thanks Archos!

cool
the dumbest thing i ever did was "improve" my xvid encoding with "Global Motion Compensation" which worked with TCMP , but discovered late that it did not work with archos.
i wonder if this addresses that?

UPADTE: and the answer is no, "MPEG4 Static Sprites are not supported" error still exists in V1.9.34 , if anyone was wondering.
it is still great that they care enough to provide any kind of updates.

NZ: Thanks for giving us - all along - the option to select 3D or 2D. Very cool of Archos.

Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device

I'm getting this (above) error when trying to mount on Ubuntu 10.04, while using Archos firmware 1.9.34. I've already tried two different Ubuntu machines, with the same error.

Any information on what this is about?

My daughter got one for xmas and is now used to reboot a device, prepared her well for the PC world though... She encountered most often a frozen device when leaving the fm radio.

Opened a call on the website, despite autoresponders we never got a proper response.

The wifi probs stopped in my net when deleting the settings and recreating with unchecking the power saving option. Since then wifi worked.

thanks in advance

Have you tried the update and found anything had changed?

If you meant me, I'm still collecting opinions and haven't done the update still. Problems with WiFi gone away, as I changed the setting in the router. It has an Auto-mode for 108 Mbps (Netgear), which is operating on channel 6 and it definitely has problems with Archos. When I switch to "g and b"-mode, channel 11, everything works fine. "Power save" disabled also. Freezing after exiting FM-radio still persists. Very annoying. Anyone with HD-plugin and new firmware? HD-plugin still there, cause I've yesterday bought the plug-in for 15 EUR and do not want it to stop working?

Can someone clarify if I will have to root my archos again if I do this update?
With the last update that is currently on my device, I had to do the "Easy APK Way".
