file0000.chk

Post by pandyBox »

on connecting the 160G A605WiFi, via USB to XP, XP insisted on automatically doing a chkdsk.
(this was on 3rd Nov 2009. Archos Bought Jan 2008 I think)

It "found" 4 files, 3 seem full of NULs

The 1st one seems like a log:

All four files are 16K
Each of the other 3 may have a small amount of non-zero data.

Is this of interest to anyone?

Is it normally accessible or has a disk error revealed it?

(It's certainly very similar to boot console serial output on other embedded devices)

i kinda find the part about serial_davinci interesting, as we discussed before about a serial programming method that might allow post 1.7 boot hack(without any sort of results excpet that to have nz confirm that the uart0 is not brought out from the BGA http://hackaday.com/2009/12/17/accessing-bga-pins/), but i dont really know if any of this is standard or not, or if its useful... prolly che would have said if it was

It's a recovered file from a disk error.

And yes, we've discussed the serial uart0 possibility before. Though the software may be there, it is claimed that the Rx line isn't brought out from the CPU. Though I've never been able to verify this as I have never been able to get my hands on dead hardware from any generation.

any of this relevant?

http://linux.davincidsp.com/pipermail/d ... 00273.html

looks like ip is used somehow? maybe this only works if not locked down like archos tho i dunno

or maybe something more like this? a dock based attack like GF?
