The rise of Apple stock price is constantly in the headlines, but Archos stock has even more thrill factor:

Apple is around $500 a share, archos is at $12.63.
Not enough in the same league.

Apple sells more I pads in a quarter than Archos sells in a year.
Apple makes something like 50 times what Archos makes in a year in one quarter.
Comparing them in any way, shape or form is ludicrous.

nek I think you're kind of missing the boat. The graph represents % in swing of the price of the stock. Makes no mention about the price, and certainly doesn't say Archos and Apple are in the same league as companies. vikings statement about the thrill factor is what the graph represents. On the graph you will see an over 120% down swing and then another 100% up swing. If you invested a million dollars in Archos stock that would make for a funner ride when compared to Apples 50% swing.

The price per share has nothing to do with the value of a company. A company can have shares at $1 each and be a million times more valuable than another company who's shares are $100 each. It all depends how many shares there are.

Here is another view where in last 2 years archos has increased stock price better than apple. Apple has done only about the same as ROSS stores (cheap clothing) in red. However, if you go further back you see Apple didn't get hit to the downside during worst of the financial crisis like the others.
