firmware 1.6.10: OK button rarely works

my "OK" button hardly ever works these days. sometimes it'll work if i hold it down with a lot of pressure, and very occasionally it will work perfectly...but 95% of the time it just doesn't work.

i've tried the "repair disk", reformatting, and even downgrading the firmware. still doesn't work.

anyone else having this problem?

Are you sure it is the firmware and not a poorly working switch contact?

Mechanical parts ALWAYS wear out.

Mechanical parts do wear out, but usually not this quickly.

IF in fact it's the fault of the firmware, more pressure on the OK button will not cause any difference in whether you get a response or not.

It seems strange that firmware would cause the issue, but you could always just downgrade back to 1.6.04 or earlier and see if the issue persists.

My guess is that it is a mechanical issue. Just in case, have you calibrated the touch screen. That "may" help (?????)

Lastly, you can force a reformat. This may help, but I do NOT have all the confidence in the world in this operating system.
