gmail problem: 'unable to complete secure transaction'

i'm getting that error when accessing m.gmail.com or mail.google.com/mail/x

any ideas what the problem is? everything else works fine. this is on the latest firmware. thanks.

I'm getting the same problem with gmail.

I also have this problem with hotmail - some kind of secure authentication.

Does anyone out there know how to solve this problem?

fyi, my gmail access just started working around the 2nd day i had it. not sure why, it just started working...maybe turning turning it off & rebooting?

now the problem i'm having is that gmail asks me to log in every time. is it cookieing the login info for others?

Well, I only logged in successfully only once (and selected to remember by ID and password). Ever since, I'm getting the "unable to complete secure transaction". Since I thought that it could be a cookies issue, I deleted the cookies but I'm still getting the same error.

I have this happen from time to time as well. I have called tech support and they don't see this as a well known issue yet. For those who have not tried to log on to gmail or another secure page, please try to see if this is indeed a widespread problem

Every once and awhile when browsing the internet with the 604 wi-fi a screen appears telling me that a certificate has expired and do I wish to renew it. If was after renewing one of these certificates that I was allowed access my bank account over a secure line. It lasted about a day and now I get that message that everyone else is getting. Does anyone else get these requests to renew the certificate?

I'm using http://m.gmail.com and that version works nice mostly on the Archos 604 Wi-Fi screen, and keeps the cookie so I'm always logged in.

you need to set the clock, if you dont, SSL certificate chechks will fail. happened to me, too. took a while to figure it out.

btw, writing this reply on a 604wifi from my couch in the living room, router is up 1 floor :)
