SSD replacement drive

Post by piecutter »

I recently did an SSD upgrade on my AV420. I used a 128GB KingSpec 1.8-inch PATA/IDE SSD and it was a drop in replacement. No mods, no fuss. The AV420 formatted it without a hitch. Just transfered all the files from the previous drive that I'd saved on the PC and it was good to go. Snappier navigating, longer play time, no moving parts and 128GB of storage! What's not to like? The SSD drive model was KSD-PA18.6-XXXMS.
If you still have an AV400 or similar that still works, I highly recommend the swap before your original drive goes dead. Have fun!
