AV400 - Cannot mount drive from XP

Post by darin »

I have a 20 gig AV400. It is working fine and has loads of pictures and music on it that I need to copy off. When I plug it in to my pc via usb, it seems to detect it fine and I can see the drive in drive manager, however I cannot actually explore the drive. I get a message saying that I have to format the drive firat before I can use it. Might be a corrupt partition table.
Has anyone had this problem before? How can I fix it please?

Thanks

Have you tried changing it to windows media device (MTP)? I just put some files onto mine as mtp so this might work to get files off before a format?

I'd also try the command prompt and see if the files can be copied that way?
