@WMTOANDROID: hey buddy..yeah you're telling me! I haven't stopped smiling since I noticed that. i sat on my pc for about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to unmount the damn tablet when i realized that there was no need to. Are you still getting the EEE pad, it got some pretty good reviews, Eng...

Re: Now own a motorola xoom and archos...xoom/honeycomb impr
But the biggest plus to using MTP is now Android allows the entire 32 gig of memory to be used for all APPS!No longer do we only have 200 or so mb's for apps, the entire devices memory can be used to save apps!!! :) :) That's huge. The #1 annoyance that I have for my Archos 70 is the lack of storag...

Re: charges only to 95%
That's actually no bug, that's a feature. If the device would charge the battery all the time at 100% while you leave it plugged in all night or longer it would kill your battery much faster. So it stops at 100% and then waits until it discharges a bit before recharging. Many Android device do that...

Re: charges only to 95%
I've never seen this problem until the recent 2.3.20 firmware update, now when I unplug my device, it counts down from 95%

Exactly. CPU-power, screen size, battery life, etc. mean nothing with a device that has low RAM. It's like a running a quad-core PC with 128mb of ram... it just doesn't work.Unsinkable II wrote:A Gig of RAM is like what, a BUCK?
Why the hell don't all smartphones and tablets come with that as a minimum??

I tried reinstalling Archangel and it's still not working. Maybe it's different for the A70?

They work properly. Single clicks now work - none of that double clicking silliness. Well done Archos - I will fogive the flash issue for a while now! Keep it up Archos! Also Archangel still works on mine. I did an upgrade over an install that had it though. Others are saying it doesn't. Can you el...

Re: IPad 2 &motorolla Xoom overrated
The Viewsonic GTablet is probably the best price:performance ratio going on in the US right now. For $279 from the Woot sale, the Tegra 2 and 512MB/16GB configuration make it very snappy when running 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs. Too bad it is so heavy. I still prefer reading on the 70, just to not have to put...

This firmware update was a disaster for me. Re: It's been 1 month and where's my flash player?
I think the flash-heavy sites are the ones that cause the browsers to crash. Sites that have links to youtube videos never close on me, unless I try to play them at 720P. but sites like IGN.com, and even some Engadget videos cause my browsers to force close. I actually have more success with the st...

Re: It's been 1 month and where's my flash player?
Have you tried using several different browsers? The stock browser does crash a lot on Flash sites. I've been using Dolphin (not HD) and never have issues with Flash sites crashing. Of course it could be certain sites that are causing the issues but I've used You tube and stage vu a lot for video a...

Re: Now own a motorola xoom and archos...xoom/honeycomb impr
I dont think its being aggressive, but being smart. if you have not used an app in some time, why leave it open, thus killing battery? Ive seen some apps stay open for over 20 minutes, and some close quickly..I'm not sure how it works, but it works well. being that the archos has limited ram, I thi...

Re: Now own a motorola xoom and archos...xoom/honeycomb impr
I'm confused. With 1gb of ram, why would the Xoom need to be so aggressive with closing apps? The highest memory usage I've ever seen in an app (not games) is for browsers running multiple tabs, and even those only use max 80mb of RAM. Having said that, does the xoom offer TRUE multitasking? That is...

Re: Running two apps on the same screen
Unfortunately, it looks like this software will only be available to OEM's to implement into their tablets - it will not be available as a standalone software. That means if you want this feature, you'll have to purchase a tablet that already has it built-in. This could be a big win for tablet manuf...

Re: It's been 1 month and where's my flash player?
Blackberry tethering is about the only thing I can think of that is really missing that Archos needs to work out. Otherwise these things are pretty smooth. We have Flash, so I am not sure what else there is that everyone is looking past. I agree that these tablets are working well. The flash 10.2 w...

Re: Can I get Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse to work?
It doesn't look like that keyboard and mouse combo uses Bluetooth (only wireless 2.4ghz). If that's the case, you won't be able to use it as the wireless dongle won't be compatible with the Archos (no drivers).

Re: So... I Was Told That Gen 8 Units Will Not Get Honeycom
If Archos can pull of doing both, then that would be nice, but if they only have time to do one or the other before Gen9's become priority, then bug fixes would be better.paulus3476 wrote:Wouldn,t you rather see 2.3 and the bug fixes that would come with it?
