BestBuy has the TAB in their stores. But geez, I can't get near the demo model. One time it was a customer hogging it for way too long. Yesterday the store clerk was playing with it, I asked about it and he kept playing. Guess I'm going to have to get pushy.

Charbax has a short video on youtube comparing them. He was at the JKKmobile table and showed how similar they were. It's not a review, just a general comparison.

I'm disappointed, I would like to see and feel one before I buy. It's going on my Xmas list, but if Archos keeps delaying, there are many more competitors showing up. I'm sure Archos is aware of this and should be in panic mode.

OK, it sounds like you are an experienced archos user. But the android devices are not the old archos. The files on the archos are in linux (android) format. So . . . if you are connected to a windows computer, the files will not show up, until you install the ext3 fs driver.

heehee - do you have the extfs driver installed on win xp? The A5A is a linux device, windows will not recognize it. (well, I think windows media player might recognize it if you do put the A5A into MTP mode. did you try that? settings ---> device storage and USB ---> USB connection mode ---> MTP )

You've tried the easy things. I assume you tried moving around when using the remote. It does have to be line-of-site,since it infrared. Or, there may be a problem with the DVR station itself. It might be worth calling archos.

Bad cable? If different PCs don't recognize the A5, it's either the cable or the A5 itself. Not much can go wrong with the cable, I realize. But it's worth a shot, trying a different cable (Or a different A5.) to narrow down the problem.
