I like the Linux tethering, because, at work, the wireless is locked down. But I do have an Ubuntu box there, that I can then connect the A5A to using this technique. It's not ideal, but it's a live connection.

Well, Skype does support incoming calls (Skype-In). SkypeIn lets you pick from a list of "land line" telephone numbers, similar to how GoogleVoice does.

I don't know if that means it will work with GoogleVoice though.

Firmware 2.xx has been working for me with mp4 videos. The videos I watch are short though, I don't watch full length movies on the A5A.

Which firmware are you using? My tethering works fine with most versions, but I don't have to enter a phone number. I believe the DUN function has been re-enabled with the latest firmware released this week.
