Re: Official 4.0.26 released - report bugs

...To disable a built-in app, go to the Apps section in the settings, click the ALL tab, scroll down to see the app you want to disable, click on it and then click the disable button. A slight warning: disabled apps appear at the bottom of the list of apps! Also, the icons for disabled apps disappe...

Re: Official 4.0.26 released - report bugs

Is there a way to 'disable' an app, short of uninstalling it? Media Center keeps coming back whenever I unlock my tablet, making it hardly responsive until I kill the process :(. Go to settings-> Apps -> All select the app (media center and possibly also media storage which is the one running in th...

Re: Official 4.0.26 released - report bugs

CANNOT see the screen of the Archos 80G9 16 on television anymore :-(. (via mini-HDMI on Archos to HDMI on TV) Could you be a bit more precise? What kind of TV are you using (brand, resolution), with which of the previous firmware versions did it work? For my A80G9 + 4.0.26 , HDMI works fine for di...

Re: Official 4.0.26 released - report bugs

I posted already on Wednesday that the 4.0.26 works and looks stable on my A80G9 (Turbo 1.2 GHz 16GB flash) but I have to revoke that now. I didn't have issues with the media center or media storage app in any of the previous versions. I own my A80 since a year or so have many updates behind me (3.2...

Re: Official 4.0.26 released

Well you are probably right not to blindly install Archos firmwares anymore... however, I went through all firmware test versions since the initial 4.0.24/.25 disaster including the 4.0.26-pre-release-test from Nov 16th. I'm running this "official" 4.0.26 now for an hour or so but it is obviously mo...

...Also, doesn't seem to be handling properly any album art downloaders such as Album Art Grabber, Cover Art Download or iTag Pro... Same for me. The Cover Art Downloader album art does not appear anymore in the media player. I could live with that (but I don't have as many files). I'm still relati...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

Good news on 4.0.25 TEST-2: Almost there ... On A80G9 HDMI aspect ratios are OK now (desktop is in 4:3) largest compatible *listed* resolution of the external HDMI device is selected, video fills 16:9 screen. Nearly as perfect as in 4.0.7! Small issue remains: somehow the truly available resolution ...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

For those experiencing issues with HDMI/DVI monitors ... 4.0.25-TEST2 ... Looks good! Installs without problems. Seems to work stable (I played some mp3s and am running a video for 1 hour now). I could not test those HDMI devices which have smaller resolution than Full-HD (I will report this evenin...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

Regarding your setup, I would need to get more information about your "non-Full-HD/non-CEC-capable" device (/me guesses DVI monitor/display). A good start would be to get the logcat when attaching the device to the display. We will understand based on the logs what happens. Could you please share t...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

Finally! Some reaction from Archos and a firmware for beta-testing the media-crash bug-fix. That gives me some hope that bug-fixes for the HDMI issue of falling back to 640x480 instead of selecting the correct HDMI output resolution for non-Full-HD/non-CEC-capable(?) devices (as it worked correctly ...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

Have you tried going back to 3.2 and then going forward to 4.0.7? Not yet since I'm not keen on wiping my tablet again... but I'm also a bit fat up with the Archos FW-updates in general and will probably start looking for a different hardware for my use cases instead of doing all this beta-testing ...

Re: Firmware 4.0.25 Live - Report Bugs!

A warning to those who want to try 4.0.25: There is no (official) way to downgrade back to 4.0.7 (which was possible from the 4.0.24)! Because of the HDMI-Bug in 4.0.2[4|5] (=much to low resolutions/wrong aspect ratios selected for non Full-HD-Devices), I wanted to switch back to 4.0.7 (exactly like...

Re: firmware 4.0.24 - report bugs

Go to Settings->Applications->All, find the Gmail application and uninstall all upgrades and clear all data. The downgrade could have installed an older version of GMail over the newer one. Thanks, worked fine. In my first atempts i only cleared the gmail cache - not the entire app-data. By the way...

Re: firmware 4.0.24 - report bugs

4.0.24 installed successfully on my 80G9 "old" 1.2GHz Turbo (PC 1147*) and I should probably be happy taking into consideration all the problems many of you are facing... I didn't notice any issues with performance - however also no noticeable improvements (possibly it boots a bit faster). A nice fe...

Re: ICS test firmware tackling Wi-Fi and HDMI issues

I tested the 4.0.6-TEST-"2" beta firmware posted in the XDA-dev forum and it solved the (last of the) HDMI audio output problems for me (80G9 Turbo 1.2 GHz 16GB)! Now the sound finally works again via HDMI on my Acer LED Pico Projector. My ICS-HDMI history so far was: 4.0.4: no hotplug connection fo...

Re: ICS test firmware tackling Wi-Fi and HDMI issues

I had no WiFi issues with ICS or Honeycomb but tested this FW version to check if the HDMI problems introduced with ICS are solved. WiFi works still stable (WPA2) and HDMI hotplug display detection now works without reboot again but I still have no audio-out via HDMI with devices on which it worked ...

Re: Firmware 4.04 released - report bugs here

I hope you noticed the posting of the archos staff member bragon in this forum where he links a ICS firmware test(!!!) version which might help with your WiFi- (and HDMI) problems (?). I do not have any WiFi problems but if you wiped your archos anyhow, you might want to experiment with that one...

Re: Firmware 4.04 released - report bugs here

I am perfectly happy with the upgrade on my 80G9 Turbo (1.2GHz, 16GB flash, 512MB RAM, not-rooted)! I didn't reformat, just updated from the downloaded aos file. Before doing that, i stopped all other running tasks and did a file system check from the recovery menue. I have >100 apps installed which...

Re: Bluetooth Heaphones while watching a movie

I have a 80G9 Turbo 1.2GHz 16GB flash and experience a related problem with bluetooth headphones and movie watching. Especially when watching something streamed over WiFi - e.g. from Samba shares or UPnP/DLNA - (but sometimes also when stored internally) most movies stutter with (any) bluetooth audi...

Re: Bluetooth music headsets / remotes / headphones for G9

I use the "Philips SHB 9100 Bluetooth Stereo Headset" with my Archos80 G9 Turbo without any problems as headphone for music; volume control and play/pause/skipping on the headset are supported. Sound and comfort are very good and has an optional 3.5mm cable for non-bluetooth use - it is not really c...
