Did you seriously just spam cheese curd though?
Anyway, I personally have absolutely no troubles whatsoever on modern devices. I got rid of my Archos 43 ages ago. It was outdated when it was new frankly and Archos just didn't support their hardware properly at all ...

Re: UrukDroid 1.6 - Apps no longer compatible that were befo
They were all free. I just find it odd because it used to not list anything that wasn't compatible at all which made me wonder if it listing them but saying incompatible now might just mean something like a missing dependency. After all, Netflix "wasn't compatible" until after I manually installed ...

UrukDroid 1.6 - Apps no longer compatible that were before?
So I sold my Archos 43 PDA to my grandparents who have a few uses for it (ironically none of which really are taking advantage of the advantages it has like its sound quality, lol.) Before I gave it to them I wanted to reset everything to a clean slate. I accidentally wiped out the partition with ...

Re: Better case?
Ok. Unless anyone has any better ideas I'll probably grab that one soon. It sounds pretty close to what I need probably. My Archos 43 has annoyed me a few times in the past and may not feel like it's as good as some of the Android PDAs out there, but overall it's quite impressive. Plus when I want ...

Re: Better case?
How well does it protect the screen? I'd rather have the A43 come on in my pocket every once in a while and everything than find the screen completely busted one day. It needs to at least have some relatively stiff material like cardboard protecting that general area.
Personally, I think all of ...

Re: Better case?
Do you mean the leather case that comes with it? If so, is it really any more solid at all? It seems like if anything it would be even softer by the look of it. The official case is pretty flimsy, but DOES have cardboard on the inside of each side. Most leather storage bags like would be used for ...

Better case?
I bought my Archos 43 along with the official case shortly after it first came out. However, the official case really is quite bad. I needed something to protect my A43 certainly and it's better than nothing, but I really need something better already. I guess mine has gotten a bit worn because I'm ...

Re: audio quality and volume of the archos 43?
You can buy FAR higher quality amps than that. For instance, even if you want dirt cheap, you can get one of Fiio's amps. The E3 is the cheapest, but the E5 is about roughly what an amp like "BoostARoo" would cost at RadioShack and far nicer (it has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges ...

Re: successfully cleaned "ghost" data storage (no root requi
Well, this would have to be caused by incomplete data writes such as by rebooting while something is writing data. Probably the biggest culprit in a normal system would be if it doesn't correctly dismount from the PC or something, but that shouldn't mess with the data storage. The OS itself should ...

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
That's not really entirely realistically possible for me. I have a fair bit installed on my Archos 43 right now and since Archos for no apparent reason anyone can figure out set the system storage to be a mere 300MB (some of which is already taken up by built in unremovable stuff it seems like -- I ...

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
Did you do anything at all to actually get it running? Switch to the VTL Launcher? Optimize anything? Or just have a different version of some thing like flash that might affect it? If you can think of anything I'd be grateful.

Archos 43 with the latest firmware installed (2.3.26 which uses Android 2.2.1.) For a while I was using custom firmwares, but I got sick of all of the instability and such and am currently using the stock Archos firmware without even so much as Archangel installed (though I'll get around to loading ...

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
Ah, I see what you mean. I knew that I remembered having seen a power management setting somewhere, but I could never find it again. It's in such an unintuitive and illogical place, so no wonder I couldn't find it again. After I thought I searched every section of the settings I assumed I must have ...

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
Well, I managed to track the VTL Launcher down. I see they are offering it free (with no updates/etc) to people on at least one site. Still, even with it the game just as before, it simply CTDs immediately after showing the loading screen every time with > 112MB free (after I killed even my keyboard ...

Re: Plants vs. Zombies
Is VTL commercial only? Actually, I really like the idea of Zeam being so minimalist -- it even runs better for me with things generally being snappier and smoother compared even to the stock launcher. I truly don't want to pay $3 for a launcher I don't even really want just to get one game working ...

Re: audio quality and volume of the archos 43?
Of course I searched for such a simple thing first. It's obvious to try searching "OGGGain" and "VorbisGain" after MP3Gain, so I ran into that right off. Unfortunately, VorbisGain does NOT do the same thing. It merely scans and adds ReplayGain tags. Unfortunately, while most players for the PC ...

Re: audio quality and volume of the archos 43?
That depends on what you're listening to. MP3 is bad with some things, but generally even an audiophile would have troubles passing a double blindfold test with a good MP3 encode (using V2 or V0 VBR helps in finding a good compromise between quality and size.) It doesn't help that many still use CBR ...

Re: audio quality and volume of the archos 43?
MP3Gain (and MP3GainGui) is free open source software that does change the volume levels, but as you say, it will hurt sound quality if you go above the maximum no-clip gain. Unfortunately, most songs are already past that point. In fact, unless you change the default settings, most will actually ...
