I sold my iphone 4 and got a Dell Streak 5. I will admit it took a little while to get used to the larger size. Now I love it. I doubt if I will ever go back to a smaller screen.
I assume this was recent? Since the Streak is getting a little old I'm trying to hold off to see what latest & greatest ...

Re: There seems to be a 5 to 6 inch stampede starting!
I only got the 70 because the 43 wasnt capacitive.
+1 on that.
For me a 4.5-5" would be perfect. I've gone back to using my Nokia N900 (3.5") as my mobile device & leaving the A70 for mostly home use. I do have to admit though that after using the A70 for a while I find the screen on the N900 too ...

Re: There seems to be a 5 to 6 inch stampede starting!
Actually, I've moved to a dumb phone as all my media/browsing usage has moved to the tablet.
This is not for any other reason than old age! ;)
My eyes are not as good as they used to be (darned phone screen), and my fingers can no longer select the miniscule links on web pages.
Lo! the tablet ...

Re: There seems to be a 5 to 6 inch stampede starting!
Why not get a 4.3" or 4.5" dual core Android phone instead, since one device and better connectivity?
Well, for myself my work supplies me with a phone, so I don't need to pay for my own. That being said, the Dell Streak _is_ a phone as well, so that option is open, and although it's not dual-core ...

Re: There seems to be a 5 to 6 inch stampede starting!
You might want to consider getting a dell streak - considering its an older device, newly rejuvenated with 2.2.2 and getting 2.3 and probably above, it is a suprisingly good device, what the A5 should have been

My work supplied me crackberry, so I didn't need the phone but wanted my own toy that i could play with as I choose :). I've been through several Zaurus's & Nokia IT's & wanted to try Android. Hi Grog,
Mine is A70 250 what is yours? Do you have to root your device? I am newbie so I won't be able and I dare not doing that. Did you do anything special other than downloading the apk?
Thanks!

I side loaded the one without the device check. It installs, but no matter how many times I try my correct email/PW "times out" each time. (70, 250GB)

I don't have my gen8 this weekend my daughter stole it from me so I can't test this.
I have read in the following post that the device check disabled apk will work and wouldn't require root.

Re: Netflix App
You can make a copy of the original and replace it if you like or reedit it's only two lines. I haven't noticed any issues so far. As I said this requires root if you have been able to do that this is a simple enough way to enjoy Netflix for now.
Exactly what I did & it works. KEWL!

It's been a few days & looks like the problem has been fixed at last in at least RC3 (not sure about RC2 but I know RC1 hadn't fixed it for me).
Thanks again FZelle. I appreciate the help.

This has nothing to do with uruk but the now often mentioned mediascaner of archos.
Since i have changed to 1.0rc1 this hasn't happen again.
And rc 3 is even better,so if you want to do something, get rc3 and after that switch on mediascanner remove nomedia where you want and probably you will have ...

Re: Urukdroid losing files on SD
.nomedia means "don't scan from here on".
So the mediascanner doesn't scan any files/directories from here on which also means that these files can't show up in gallery or music app ( except in directory mode ).
So if you wan't to see the files in the gallery you have to delete the .nomedia.

Used to have the same problems where video files got deleted after reboot.

Good to know.
Do you use .nomedia and also did you switch the MediaScanner of?
