Re: One Remedy for Running Slower

Well, you can individually go to each application's page in Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, and delete the cache through there.

I believe the file is an SQLite database. You can use the command-line sqlite3 tool, or try sqlitebrowser.

Re: Does the "Universal Ubuntu on Android" work on Archos?

My impression from related threads on xda-developers is that it works on UrukDroid, but not on the stock firmware (because of missing loop device).

I asked Steven Synofsky and Michael Anguilo (the top Microsoft Windows 8 guys featured in my video: http://armdevices.net/2012/02/29/windows-8-on-arm-consumer-preview-mobile-world-congress-2012-keynote-presentation-highlights/ ) a couple weeks ago and they told me Android can be dual-booted as long...

Re: how to install books ( e pub ) on the archos 70 it2 250

Depends on the eBook reader software you are using. If you are using Aldiko (comes pre-installed), I think you put the epub files in the folder eBooks/import on internal storage, then from the Aldiko menu, select "Import". My favorite eBook reader is FBReader. For that, you just put the epub files i...

Re: Archos G10 xs, Archos Elements and Arnova 50Ôé¼ announced

Archos did mention making one Windows 8 on ARM based Tablet/Laptop convertible by the end of the year. I hope they make sure to make it dual-boot the latest and greatest Android also. Very unlikely. Windows 8 hardware certification requirements forbid having a boot loader that can boot anything but...

Re: Firmware 2.4.82 released - report bugs here

I don't know what's gone wrong on my A43, but after updating it doesn't last for 30 minutes on the battery, while before it could last 10 full hours! Does this update use that much more battery power? Also, when I plug in the charger (USB / charger rated at 1.5A) it goes from 10% to 99% in 10 secon...

Re: Which version of linux would work for me to use Pd?

Then does it mean that there are not many Linux softwares to install on Gen8 tablet with linux? Well, if you manage to install the ARM version of, say, Ubuntu or Fedora, you will get access to everything in their repositories, which is quite a bit of software. You'll also be able to install gcc, au...

Re: Which version of linux would work for me to use Pd?

You can get Ubuntu working on an A101, but it is not a task for a non-technical user. To install PD, you'd have to compile it from source on your device, or with a suitable cross-compiler environment -- none of the binary packages will work, as they're for x86, not for ARM.

Re: Won't stop "preparing scan"

I see this, too, though it eventually goes away. I think that in my case, it is the Gallery application that is holding up the scanner. Go to the System Monitor app, kill Gallery, and the "preparing scan"should switch to "0 items scanned" and proceed with the scan from there.

Re: Archos 70 IT... MP3 format not supported

Sometimes the "unsupported format" error is wrong, and the file is actually missing, or in a different location than where your device thinks it is. Resetting your media library will fix the problem.

Re: Acessing PC e-mail from tablet?

Where is your Outlook mail coming from? If it's coming from an Exchange server or an IMAP server, K9 mail ought to be able to connect to those. That's probably more straightforward than trying to read a local copy of an Outlook mailbox. K9 mail ought also to be able to leave mail on a POP server, if...

Re: How to enable Compcache with Stock ROM

Yeah, that response is a little old. I've since built a kernel to use with Chulri's root that has compcache, plus a wider selection of CPU governors, but I'm not really happy enough with it to release publicly.

Re: Is Anyone Using LUKS Manager?

You should be able to find a busybox that has the needed features.

The kernel features are more significant. The stock kernel doesn't have loopback support. I believe that UrukDroid does, but I do not know if it has CONFIG_DM_CRYPT.
