Thank you Archos, excellent service! (RMA)

Hi everybody, Time for very positive post on Archos customer service. After a few months my A80 G9 250 Turbo developed a crack in the screen. All the touchscreen problems I had been experiencing were most likely due to the impending screen failure. Reading all the drama on several forums regarding R...

Re: "Only touch screen" freezing problem.

Hi, it sounds to me like you do have a hardware problem. Loose connector or a crack in the screen that will develop soon, if it has not happened already. I had a similar experience with the 80 Turbo 250Gb...RMA might be the only option, sorry.

Re: Return to 3.2 from 4.0 with no root

15 minutes is not normal. Try again powering up while holding the volume down switch. reformat option. etc etc. As for myself... In the end going back to 3.2.80 did not resolve my frozen touch screen issues. I did notice that when I pinched the left upper corner of my tablet, it sometimes resolved t...

Thanks, I went back today from 4.0.7 to 3.2.80. I hope this Will result in a lot less embarasing behaviour whenever I take my tablet out in public. Fingers crossed.

Re: Return to 3.2 from 4.0 with no root

Hi FYI this works to go back to 3.2.80 from 4.0.7, I initially could not get past an update fail message, but the 3rd attempt was succesfull. I have completed a full format to start with, but did not install the test ICS.

Thanks, T.

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.7) - Report Bugs

Hi, the unresponsive/locked touchscreen, that happens very often after wake up from standby, does it happen on Honeycomb as well? Just wondering if it really can't be fixed. It does happen to me very often. 80 HDD Turbo on 4.0.7

Re: HDD problem?

This evening again, with at least half a battery charge left, out of the blue: the tablet made a few quick beeps and performed a spontaneous reset. Now it has been in a 2.5 minute cycle rebooting on the charger for a few hours. I can get past the unlock screen. When I look at the content of the tabl...

If the BT set works fine with the 70IT and my Galaxy phone....to me it sounds more like an A80 problem. But yes, how do you prove that?

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.7) - Report Bugs

First two days after update were horrible, even after Android reset and multiple touchscreen calibrations. But for the last three days it has finally decided to behave....no more freezes, reboots, missing hard drive messages or frozen unlock screens. Could it be? Update: I have just checked my BT J...

Re: HDD problem?

I have not changed anything on my tablet since my previous post...but I must say that it has been behaving very well for the last three days...
No more freezes, no more reboot or wake up problems...

Fingers crossed again.

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.7) - Report Bugs

2 times my tablet crashed while connecting an USB pendrive by the OTG adapter. No answer at all, buttons nor touch. After the reboot it worked again. Anybody? Same problem here, And after every wake up of the screen, it freezes more often than not...don't have to keep my fingers crossed anymore as ...

Re: HDD problem?

After performing Android reset, it performed well for 1 day. Today again the tablet often won't boot. If it does boot, it sometimes claims that the HD is empty. This not the kind of usage that I was hoping for.

Re: HDD problem?

I have updated to 4.0.7 from 4.0.6 using the WIFI Now it very often won't boot past the initial Archos screen. Or the pin code screen shows but it is frozen. Or it sometimes boots up and it does not show the 250 HDD other than as "empty". And almost every time I use the short push to turn ...

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.6) - Report Bugs

There is also an issue with Skype and Google Talk, where during a call it is impossible to hear the person on the other end. m The only way round apparently is to downgrade to 4.0.5. Also I did not notice any increase / decrease in freezes and reboots between the two versions. they put out a test f...

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.6) - Report Bugs

Hey Tweety, have you ever had your bluetooth audio working without stutter on another firmware version? The first thing i did with my 80 turbo was update it to 4.0.6 so I havent experienced the other versions or Honeycomb. Nope, the stutter has been there since HC. On easy AVI files my BT headset w...

Re: LIVE! - Firmware Update (4.0.6) - Report Bugs

Hi, like I said before, my GPS works fine on ICS. I just checked again, indoors, switched OFF Wi-Fi, no 3G stick or BT GPS device, no reboot: It took maybe two minutes to get a fix with 7 sats in view, 5 in use, accuracy 20 feet. And indoors means lots of concrete overhead and two meters from the do...
