Archos Should Go 3D (Recommendation for a New Product)

I started thinking about this about a year ago after I bought and started using my LG Optimus 3D (P-925G) phone. The LG was nice as a display device, but it had been designed as a phone first. The price reflected the cost of the extra phone capabilities and the overly healthy profit margin of the ...

Re: USB File Maintenance Unstable -- Files Can Be Lost

. . . Seriously though, I have never had any data loss, and I have literally copied and moved terabytes worth of data to and from my G9 101. Also you should be more specific about what damage happened to the "trashed" partitions/cards. . . .

Reporting the problem is a problem. I suspect that ...

File Browsers, File Managers

There are too many. I tried about a half dozen over the years, and so far I have settled on the following three. Hopefully someone else will say a bit about some others.

Blackmoon File Browser, version 7.8c, by Blackmoon Info Tech Svcs.

I found this back during Android 1.6 days from Archos ...

First, a bit of advice:

The title you gave this topic does not say what kind of advice you are asking about. While there are people who actually read every topic in a forum, there are other people like me who rarely bother with topics as vague as this. I do not have time to waste on trying to ...

Web Browsers:

It has been a long time since I looked at a range of Web Browsers. Over a year ago I looked at the Firefox Beta, Opera Mobile, Dolphin, Dolphin HD and regular Maxthon. Maxthon was the only browser back then that could save the HTML page and picture files. Over the last year it has ...

Re: Your top 5 apps for G9 tablets.

I will try to eventually post 5 best apps, but for now, I will discuss apps in categories, in a series of posts (when I have time):

Regarding Pulse, Mobo RSS Reader and Flipboard (and other RSS Apps).

"Pulse" and "Mobo RSS Reader" are similar programs. Pulse seems to update faster than Mobo, but ...

Video Players

I think we were getting too far away from the '83 bug report topic, so I am posting this in the Video testing thread because it seems a better fit.

I mentioned the "MX Player" before. There is another set programs called "Mobo Video Player" that also uses a variation of the "ffmpeg" Codec kit. I do ...

I can also confirm not being able to write to the SD Card except with Archos apps, which is bothersome.

1. I can see it in the "Ted" text editor (3rd party).

I also tried MX Video player on my Archos 70 and it worked just fine, but it plays on a slightly smaller screen because of the Archos icons for Back, Menu and Home. As a result I quit using it.

Does anyone know a way around that problem? I'd really like to use it if it was full screen.

Regarding "MX Player":

Apparently this is going to be a bit harder to get than I thought. It is not on "appslib".

The new firmware appears to break playback of high profile H.264 video.

I can confirm the update breaks MP4 video playback. Have over 300 movies in this format and 0 out of 30 tried are working. Error is pop-up saying "Cannot play video! Media player error." . . . .
