If you push the power on/off button up (further than when it is in the resting position) and leave it there for about 5-15 seconds, it will do a reset equivalent to removing the battery.

also, this is something i read in another thread: "I just recently exchanged my Archos 43 vision. It came preloaded with the most recent firmware (1.18) and the touchscreen is much improved. So yeah, I ended up using the free version of AVS Video Converter... The watermark is kinda annoying, but i'm willing to tolerate it for the videos i watch on it... havent had the chance to try it with any movies to see how the player reacts to that, but so far it's been acceptable.

so, you suggest I download a video encoding program and try to re-encode them so that resolution is 480 X 272, use a frame rate of 24 kbps and encode to XVID?

I believe if you push the power button UP instead of down, it will do a factory reset... haven't been in a situation where i had to do this myself, i just heard if from somewhere... i forget where though.
