Re: new firmware 2.3.26 - report bugs here

Glad to see they finally implemented the fix I found for Blackberry tethering! :)

So much for the "incompatible hardware" form letter they used to send Blackberry users.

Upgrade after root

I did the SD card root to my A70 so that I could dink with Blackberry Tethering. Well, I got it to work and have now moved on to an Atrix with has a mobile hotspot. So, having a rooted device isn't necessary anymore and I'd like to try the upgrade. Can I just download the update and let it run as no...

Re: Blackberry Tethering - SUCCESS

Is there only ONE guy that works support tickets? Anyone talk or get a response from someone else? As stated it is a difference in programming between our devices and the Blackberry's as you yourself have pointed out. Our tethering has been programmed to our specifications. Do to how Blackberry has...

Re: Blackberry Tethering - SUCCESS

IT WORKED!!!!!! EVERYTHING IS UP AND RUNNING!!!!! a) Good data consumption/bandwidth monitoring application? Preferrable one that always runs in the background and can distinguish between wifi and 3g data? Or should I run this on the BB side? If you're with AT&T, you can dial *DATA# from your 'berr...

Re: Blackberry Tethering - SUCCESS

To everyone, it was my pleasure to provide everyone with the BB Tether fix. The thanks from everyone is payment enough for me. :) On a side note, I emailed Archos a few weeks ago asking if they ever planned on implementing my fix in their future releases and was met with silence. Not even a form let...

I'm beginning to think Archos is intentionally leaving the Blackberry Tether fix out of new firmware releases for some unknown reason. This is ridiculous.

Re: Slingplayer mobile on Android Market

Slingplayer Mobile has never been free.

It shows up online as "not compatible" so it won't show up in the marketplace.

So, you have to find an "alternative" way to get it...and that's all I have to say about that. :)

Beejive for Android

Does anyone know of an APK available for this? It's not showing up in the marketplace. UGH. :(

Re: Blackberry Tethering with new FW?

Will that root allow permanent changes to the /system file system? I use the SD card root so I can make permanent changes for the BB tethering to work and boot from the card.

Re: Blackberry Tethering - SUCCESS

I've been told that the new FW corrects the tether_start_dun.sh script, but for it to work (at least for me) they still need to comment the "novj" compression parameter in the /system/etc/ppp/peers/tether file.

Re: Blackberry Tethering with new FW?

Hopefully there will be a good root available soon so I can look into this more. My tethering is working great until 2.0.71 but I'm not upgrading unless there is a root available so I can edit the files required to make BB tethering work. :(

Blackberry Tethering with new FW?

I've been told that Archos has corrected the tether_start_dun.sh script. Has anyone tried tethering with their Blackberry under the new FW?

Re: Firmware 2.1.02 released - report bugs here

If anyone has this rooted, can you check the file /system/bin/tether_start_dun.sh for me? Specifically, I'm looking at the "if" statement and want to know if there is a space after the "[". It should read: if [ $# -eq 4 ] not if [$# -eq 4 ] Also, if you could check the file /system/etc/ppp/peers/tet...

Re: Firmware 2.1.02 released - report bugs here

Still no Blackberry Tether....even after they were handed a fix. :(

Will the original 2.2 root that involved the SD card still work? I don't want to upgrade and lose my tethering ability.
