Archos announces a product, they over promise and under deliver.
They drop support for devices quickly-there have not been any firmware updates for this series of devices in a year.
There is no reason to come to this section of the forum, there is nothing going on.

Swapping out for a new one will do you no good.
Netflix as well as any flash video causes the device t lockup and die.

It's a problem with all Archos g9s.
Maybe the ICS update has fixed it if it is not a hardware issue.

come on guys, its delayed, no problem.
there would be another 101 threads started if they released an early buggy version - i personally would rather them delay for a few weeks than release a bug riddled version.

Since Archos promised ICS in February and the month is almost over, the update must be coming any second now.

Honestly, its not that big of a deal.
The default browser has been improved in ICS, there really isn't any advantage to using chrome.

Acer released the official ICS for a200, I have it.
Like the ring and native ICS launcher.

It really is nice-Netflix runs without freezing up and having to reset tablet, battery last pretty decent amount of time.

Apple is around $500 a share, archos is at $12.63.
Not enough in the same league.

You would be better off getting something else.
The viewing angles are poor and any touching of the device causes screen rippling.

I have now upgraded today my asus transformer prime to ICS!! I received this on the 30th Dec so within a couple of weeks we have gone from Honeycombe to ice Cream sandwich so I am very happy indeed. It runs very smoothly and do not regret changing from archos to asus.

It's Archos' fault.
Whatever they did to android is causing the crashes.
My acer a200 is rock solid, not a single crash when streaming flash.

Its an android problem.
Google isn't building in full HTML 5 support into android.

Works perfectly on my I pad, iPhone.
The fault isn't with audible, its an android problem.

Also, if i download audible content into iTunes, I can burn it to a cd.
I can take that CD and reimport it without Drm.

I love audible and have never had any issues.

I ordered my Turbo at the beginning of January, I have the screen defect.
Either Archos has fixed nothing or you received stock that shipped prior to them realizing they shorchosuld not have cheaped out by removing some metal support from the frame of the device.Archos a

Just received mine.
Seems I accidentally ordered the "clear" one which is actually white.
Slips on easily since it is not a really snug fit. The cutouts are in the right places allowing access to all ports and speaker is uncovered.
Pretty nice cover, not too pricey.

After I choose 'yes' to downloading a firmware update and seeing the download start, I don't know where the file is stored and the tablet doesn't on its own continue the update process. Where can I find the new .aos file?
