Has anyone been able to get Google My Tracks to work without using google marketplace?

I have downloaded the .apk and installed it on my Archos 43 but the app shuts down as soon as it starts up.

I have just purchased my Blootooth GPS reciever for my Archos 43 and awaiting a suitable SD Card. In the meantime I am deciding which software to go with, as of yet I am thinking of going with Co Pilot because of the good reviews I've read.

I have manually reset the device using the volume and power buttons (explained in the online user manual at archos.com) and successfully repaired the device.
