Suggestion for those wifi woes

Hi all, I, too, was bashing my head against the wall with connection problems (2.1.04 firmware). The connection was established but... no internet. I reconfigured my router (N), to no avail. THEN I shortened my wifi password (8 characters) and bingo, not a problem in sight. Why? Is it the Archos (10...

Re: wpa_supplicant problem

Hi there,
I'm not 100% sure about this but I remember having to trim the wpa_supplicant.conf file and removing the lines above

network={

Try that.

Re: debian on a5it?

Thanks for the confirmation! I was feeling a little alone. Where do you think the instructions from openAOS are incomplete? Are there simple steps, obvious snags once you start debugging? Tips. I've never done anything of the sort before so I don't know what I am talking about, nor do I completely u...

Re: debian on a5it?

Hi, I followed the OPENAOS instructions to the letter. Took ages. Really. Anyway, it was all for nothing. Did everything right. Never booted up. I just wondering, has ANYONE every installed a proper debian on their A5IT (gen 7)? Even booted to desktop or just commandline? Sure, I could serial debug,...

Re: Archos 5IT Linux Wifi help (Dual OS thing)

Yes indeedie, I got it working. Not that the 'adb push' stage is very easy. Installing the Android SDK and getting it to recognise the device (reboot first after all the process is done), is a mini-adventure. Help is easily found in these forums. One tip: I followed the 'enabling wifi in angtrom' ex...

Re: Archos 5IT Linux Wifi help (Dual OS thing)

Thank you very much indeed, I'd scoured the forum and had come across adb pull/push, but I'd never have been able to
put it all together like you have in this instructions. Brilliant, I'll give it a stab right now.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Archos 5IT Linux Wifi help (Dual OS thing)

Hi there,
The guide to enabling wifi brushes over the part where you retrieve the .nvs file from the ubifs partition. That seems like an adventure in itself.
Any help/guidance on how to do that precisely?

Many thanks
