Re: Firmware 2.0.71 released, report bugs here

A nice smooth update on my A70S. (I'm using Market v4.) Thanks Archos! [I wish the most recent update on my Droid X had gone so well. ](*,) ]

It would be nice to get root back, while this update negates the need for SetCPU, I miss Titanium.

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

I also have an A28 2.2 (gApps4Archos2.apk) that I use only as a cached Slacker music player, I'll install v4 on it too. My A70 2.2(v4) is stable and working well now. I'll probably do some experimenting with the A28 though, since I don't have much installed on it. Let me know how it turns out on th...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

Is the reason that WeatherBug Elite (and Rainy Days) didn't work in v3 and gApps4Archos2 due to the missing NetworkLocation.apk? No, that's part of the core apks and has always been there. The main reason some of the Market apps crashed was because of missing framework files (similar to DLL files)....

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

NetworkLocation.apk is a core gApp file. If this is broken in the gApps4Archos2 installer, then yet again... start over and use my gAppsInstaller_v4... I just tested and my WiFi location pegged me at home within 20 meters. gAppsInstaller_v4 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867303&...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

My A70 is configured and working very well now. After a reboot CPU usage is at 300 MHz/2% based on Temp+CPU Pro, truly idle. :D I reinstalled about 2/3 of the apps I'd installed before, for about 40 apps now. I have a better idea of what I want on it, so this setup is better than the prior one too. ...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

StealthX & Kenyu...I did not post this since I thought people have figured this out....Here's the trick The Market Fix will give you some apps but will take away other apps. What you need to do depending on apps you're looking for is to run the Market Fix and if you want go back to the original sta...

The later is my appsInstaller which I think is better then this one, but you decide.. ;)
Having used both, I'd vote for your version, gAppsInstaller_v4.apk.

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

No clue. It seems the clear cache method has different results all around. I had Flash show up initially, I installed it then it disappeared from the Market. Sometimes I have to do the Market fix over after it was working. Try running the Market fix again.. then again and again.. Until it shows up....

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

This time around Adobe Flash is not showing up in Market. I did do this: Setting-->Manage Applications-->All-->Market (Clear Cache then 'Force Stop' -- DO NOT clear data) Setting-->Manage Applications-->All-->Google Services Framework (Clear data then 'Force Stop') After which LauncherPro started sh...

[quote="kenyu73"Next time try OSMonitor. It's just like Windows Task Manager. You can sort by CPU (load). I know when my CPU is maxed, its' usually /system/bin/mediaserver. It's used to index your internal and sdcard files. I think other apps can use it to for network stuff.[/quote] Thanks for the s...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

A quick update. I did a "Full reinitialization" of the A70, then installed gAppsInstaller_v4.apk, and ran it. The A70 is nice and responsive again now. (BTW, I actually used v3, not v2.5, earlier in the week after the A70 arrived.) The first app I reinstalled is WeatherBug Elite, and it does indeed ...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

It works. That was one of the apps I used also. Runs fine now. OK, I'll do a factory reset, then use v4 and reinstall apps selectively over time. Something is pegging the cpu at 100% not long after a reboot. Using Android System Info and SystemPanel it isn't obvious what the culprit is. I'll post a...

Re: easy market install on froyo 2.0.54 firmware: the apk wa

Kenyu, Thank you very much for your efforts, they are appreciated! I used your 2.5 version on my A70 and it worked great, no issues. My only issues with the A70 are that a small number of apps that I can run on my Droid X will not run on the A70, and that the A70 has half the RAM of my X. But for t...

Re: Never able to re-root my Archos after reboot

It would be interesting to run an app (if one exists) that logs the free RAM, Internal Memory, and perhaps other system parameters every 100 ms while x4root is being run. That would give some insight into what causes x4root to fail and/or take a long time to run.

Im on 2.0.54 on my A101 and using Z4root v1.3.0 no idea on why it isnt working for you. Strange to say the least Thanks for your information! I ask several other successful people who never responded. Well, maybe it just doesn't work on the Archos 70 Internet Tablet? I'm saying / thinking this now ...
