I finally rooted my Archos 101, after the warranty expired, and did it with no problem. But, when I used your very detailed and well-written explanation of how to get more app space, I ran into a problem.

I created /tmp/new-data just as directed, but when I tried the next step:

mount ...

I got a 101 for Christmas and would love any kind of decent case for it. I was going to look or a netbook slip cover but, even if you don't need me to be involved with the testing, please keep track of my interest and let me know when you go into production.

According to UPS, my 101 that I ordered on 26 Nov. arrived here in Nashville early this afternoon.

I also ordered mine on the 26th, and, according to UPS, it shipped this afternoon from Hodgkins, IL. Estimated arrival is December 7th.

Amazon says the 101 has shipped, due here Dec. 2 to 7. Then it has to go in the closet until the 25th. It might be time to be VERY nice to my wife and see if it can see the light of day sooner.<G>

I just ordered from TigerDirect via Amazon. I just got standard shipping since it's going to be a Christmas present from my wife. Shipping was only $6.08. I added an HDMI cable for $3.08. Will post when the 101 ships.
