Actually half the screen has lost touch sensitivity after it broke. The bottom half of the screen is not responding to any input.

It is also impossible to recalibrate, since the recalibration command can no longer be accessed.

Maybe if I hook it up to a PC via USB cable something can be done ...

Update:

Screen broke after the unit served as a toy for a young toddler for many hours. It actually survived being tossed on the floor countless times without damage, but finally acquired a long crack across the screen.

Still works fine though.

Also, I confirm again that battery life is very long ...

I managed to install 1.9.26 from 2.0.38 and here are my impressions:

Angry Birds is not loading correctly and has become unplayable
GPS signal reception is better
No freeze-ups or crashes yet

Battery life seems huge, still going strong and far far from needing a charge, even after copying some files and viewing some videos.

As for getting video out cables? Not that easy. I am now considering ordering them from the Archos Store for Ôé¼10.

I just don't understand this thing... My WiFi signal on everything in the house is full bar... On my Archos 5... 1 bar sometimes 2... It's been that way since day one. It just makes internet browsing very sluggish to say the least.

I just opened the box to handle the unit.

It feels solid and hefty, with very smooth surfaces and no buttons.

I was expecting a micro B USB plug but it is a mini B plug instead - oh well... at least the cable is included.

No, I'm in the UK. Copilot is available for the whole of Europe - you can download the Europe version of the app from the ALK website here:

You do have to buy it though, to get a licence. The maps are downloaded within the app.
