It seems some weird operators lock tethering, in thatcase yeah. I just call mine & they switch it on & give me 1gb data for £5 a month. Sorted.

Re: Iphone Tethering

There's another poster on here who had it working & someone on YouTube with a video of it working so it clearly is possible.

If it were impossible then you couldn't have connected at all dude.

Did you connect using the internal IP address or an external IP?

Not ideal but as a one time trick sounds a good workaround. Nice one finding it.

I would never do an upgrade install of any OS whatsoever, a clean install is always easier & runs more smoothly, be it Linux, Windows, or Android.

Re: Second way for the Market on FROYO

I'm struggling with using Terminal Emulator for some reason. The instructions seems very straight forward. I'm maybe missing something in the simplicity of the emulator. I omitted the /sdcard as I just copied the folder into the root of the archos directory. So I use /market/*.apk instead. Is this ...

At the risk of repeating myself, get a datel wii wireless controller. It's just like a classic controller for the wiimbut registers as a wiimote standalone. Aces.

If you're in the UK I'm pretty sure it's the sellers responsibility to replace then reclaim afterwards from the courier. Check on the consumer advice forum or trading standards site to be sure & find out what legislation to quote. Nb for anyone else receiving a package dented or looking a bit batter...

Re: Would this controller work on the Archos 101?

I've got the datel wii retro wireless controller. It's just like the classic controller for the wii, only completely wireless instead of attached to the wiimote.

Connects & registers as a wiimote to my wii, PC & iphone so should be fine with the 101 too.

Re: I am testing new Froyo firmware, unlimited app space ins

Oh, and I just ordered FIOS internet at 35 Gbps which installs the 1st... so I'm thinking browsing the web will be a lot faster! Are you sure that is Gbps and not Mbps? I am just asking because I never heard of anything that fast. Where do you live? I have Comcast 12-15 Mbps service. Hahaha, that's...

YouTube I guess will be the most common flash that would be used in browser.

How about 720p video over wifi? Be interesting to see if there's an improvement there.

Cheers.

It's vapour, not vapor.

Buy the datel wii wireless retro controller instead, same exact functions only just one controller & no wires.

You can get DVDs that claim to sometimes get rid of dead pixels & help prevent them.

There's a couple on usenet usually, worth a try!

Re: [Guide] Ext3 Partitions and Windows

It's slower because of how the driver converts the data. There doesn't seem to be any way to speed the process up as long as you want to perform this operation in Windows. If you dual-boot, and your Linux distro has access to your Windows files (don't know why it wouldn't), it would be quicker to b...

Re: [Guide] Ext3 Partitions and Windows

Is the fact it's slower because the windows software is running?

I'm just debating whether it'd be better to boot my linux laptop up & copy the files using smb through that onto an ext3 card when I want to copy files or use this technique.
