Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

@Charbax, First with all those things does not mean the best with Android. If you came up with a car a year before I came out with a car but yours crashed, stalled, wouldn't start, and mine ran smoothly with no problems, does that mean your better with making a car. What about this part Charbax? Th...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

There are certain things that may not drop as fast in price, like the metals and plastics used, and assembly price is actually going up even though assembly represents less than 5% of the overall price of an average tablet and smartphone. Assembly share on the iPhone is actually closer to 2% of the...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

Rockchip RK2918 1.5Ghz (some times capped in specs at 1Ghz but ICS/JB peak performance can pull 1.5Ghz out of that processor) with Mali-400 GPU is faster, smoother and better than the overclocked 800Mhz-1Ghz OMAP3630 with SGX530 in Archos 70 Internet Tablet. Faster Ghz is not proof of more performa...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

Moore's law only deals with putting more transistors in the same amount of space. It does not deal with production costs in the same way. Yes it will be cheaper to make a cpu with the same amount of transistors in that time period, but not half the price. Absolutely half the price. You can fit more...

I was trying to keep the threads clean and I did not want to continue the other thread off topic so I tried continue the discussion in a PM to Charbax. He let me know he wont discuss long post in private messages, he would not even bother reading it, and he would only discuss it in public. So, here ...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

Do you understand Archos Gen8 hardware was released in 2010, 2 years before the Nexus7? Yes I do under stand that. Do you understand that the Gen8 was released roughly 2 years ago had numerous updates and still has bugs being reported. My Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 had no bugs from day 1, had one up...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

If you're not interested in experiencing the Archos 70 IT, similar-to-Nexus7 in better since 2010 (HDMI, microsd, kick-stand, usb-host, lighter at 300gr, 250GB option), or even since 2006 with Archos first 7" experience device AV700 etc. then don't buy Archos, buy one of the boring slow followers f...

Re: Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean! Jelly Bean!

I know Archos is the worlds best at Android. They are better than Google even which is insane This made me laugh. Archos may have had the idea or the determination to use Android in a tablet form factor first and got them out at the cheapest prices at the time. Maybe even the idea of a kickstand an...

+1
I guess it's OK though as I am going to sell my Archos 70 soon. I just keep checking back here once in a while to see if anything new develops for it while I still have it.

Re: G8 tablets get ICS

I emailed asking for more information on this supposed gen8 ICS update and this is the response I got back. Hi Mark, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, the reporter who wrote that email got their facts a little off. I think what they were trying to say is that ARCHOS was scheduling ICS updates...

Re: G8 tablets get ICS

It's silly to say "Liar". The article does not quote Archos and there is nothing on Archos' site making the claim that ICS will ever be available for gen8 and as far as I can remember there never has been. Journalists write all kinds of things, including nonsense, and they have misunderstandings an...

@Jamie41, I know your original observation was not directed at me. My last post was regarding your post after mine. I'm sorry if you did not direct the comment directly at me but it was after my post so it seemed like it was responding to mine. And I didn't say anyone should never use it. I merely p...

Re: Firmware 2.4.82 released - report bugs here

@jamie41, Sorry if it felt I was bullying you or putting you down but to be honest the way you responded it sounds like you are putting people down and are trying to make them see it your way if they go by the way of "If it ain't broke don't fix it". When it comes to mechanical stuff with moving par...

Re: Firmware 2.4.82 released - report bugs here

They said that on the railway. They didn't fix it until it broke. It broke. People died. It was too late to fix it then You mean they did not do preventative maintenance on the railway. You can't fix something that is not broken, you can only perform preventative maintenance on things so they don't...

Child Pad by Archos

Anyone see this yet?

Finally Archos puts 1GB RAM that most users want into one of their tablets, too bad it is for their low cost kid tablet.
