Re: Official 4.0.28 released - report bugs
If your tablet is working at the moment forget about installing any of the updates that Archos has delivered over the last 12 months. I installed every update they released. I got it a year ago with Honeycomb and upgraded to ICS couple of days later and every firmware since ... never had any proble...

Re: 4.0.26(4.0.25) not connect to a password-protected SHARE
It's simple. Need root access the new firmware does not write to the file "fusesmb.conf" And this file contains the settings for all the shares (which with a password) path to the file: /data/misc/smb/ it should be written (any text editor): [/SERVER] username=SERVER/archos password=12345 showhidde...

Re: 4.0.26(4.0.25) not connect to a password-protected SHARE
I don't have one of those, but in the settings, click on more, you will see shared folders and paswords. Does that let you fix it? Yep been there and done that but no luck no matter how I input the login name and password. What is interesting is the fact that a different app works fine(ES Explorer)...

Re: 4.0.26(4.0.25) not connect to a password-protected SHARE
I have upgraded to the new firmware and so far I love it, although one of my pet peeves is the same issue posted above. I have discovered that the tablet no longer connects to my Synology DS209 NAS, which require a password for access. I hope there is a fix for this. I have found that this issue onl...

Re: Archos 80 G9 Case with Strap ....
What I use and turns out to be really perfect in size and mobility is the messenger bag by Targus. I managed to trial fit it a Target Store before purchasing. I have the Archos faux leather slip on cover for the tablet then I insert that into this bag for travelling long distances. The bag is useful...

Re: best apps/widgets/games to get
Hmm, i dont know what kind of flight simulators folks are using, but i had some fun with one called island. Since there is only a hint of lagginess, i could eventually fly the entire course at top boost speed without crashing. Helps to fly really low, which i guess saves the gen9 from laboriously r...

Re: support navigon???
I have not tried Navigon, I am using Navfree. So far it works for my needs especially since it has offline maps which is not too shabby. My GPS works well typically after a reboot and stays locked continously through my trip =D> . Other apps tried with success are Google maps, Sygic and Telenave (no...

Re: New or old spec G9
My box has a sticker on it that very clearly says "Turbo version ultra fast dual core processor" in the top right hand corner. It also has a sticker on the box that says "Upgradeable to Android Ice Cream Sandwich". My device also has the word Turbo on the front bottom right. Don. Same here although...

Re: GPS not working! help wanted
Can anyone confirm if the GPS worked better on honeycomb. I updated to ICS immediately after receiving my G9 80 16GB Turbo (in hindsight probably should not have...) so can't compare. Mostly I'm interested in whether GPS works on honeycomb without wifi/3G connection being enabled. Considering going...

Re: are these the same (version) of tablet?
Luckily there is a shop in the Portland airport that sells the latest version of the tablet. I have also made sure the sku wAs correct and that the box labeled as, ICS upgradeable. The sales guy was also nice enough to open the box to make sure the tablet had a 4460 chip inside via settings menu. :D...

Re: Firmware upgrade to 4.0.5 OTA
Hi everybody, I have just bought the 80 Turbo 250GB. Still on firmware 3.2.79. Is there anybody who did successfully update to 4.0.5 and does NOT experience any WIFI/HDMI/GPS issues? At the moment I am very reluctant to do any upgrade. Thanks, TweetyRJ85 The response to the request above was not ov...

Re: The advertisement at the top of this page.. .
Tells me that I can buy a 1.5 Ghz G9 model 80 with 1 Gb of ram for $249 -which seems like a decent price. But when I am taken to the Archos site it says nothing about how much ram is on the device. Can anyone (Craig?) positively confirm that if I order one of these then I really will get 1 Gb of ra...
