Re: Archos 97 Carbon

Was just wondering about this myself after reading this article:
https://mashable.com/2012/07/05/archos-carbon/

The article claims it will be available "later this month for $249.99".

Re: One Remedy for Running Slower

There are non-rooted cache cleaners. Just so I am clear, those do not clean all the caches that the rooted one does?

Edit: By the way, I find a reboot is more helpful than any (non-rooted) cache cleaner I've found.

Thanks.

If you install some browsers they use the data partition for the cache and then you get in trouble very fast.

Try cachemate.
Cachemate appears to require root. Any good alternative for non-rooted users?

Thanks.

Happy to hear you aren't giving up! I think the 5IT/48 is a great device.
Good luck.

Didn't notice unusual heat on our unit that stopped charging, but we've since gotten an RMA replacement. So far, all is well with the new one.

Re: Archos confusion reigns supreme....

A suggestion for this site - it seems like it would be desirable to include the 48 in the title of the 5IT forum section. I hope the OP comes back to see the info posted in this thread.

Thanks.

Re: Archos confusion reigns supreme....

Have you looked for the Archos 48? It's the same basic unit without the GPS I believe, and was issued more recently.

Edit: I see it in stock on Amazon UK.

Re: A80 G9 4.0.5 won't charge - dead

Totally weird, I've just come back to it and it has turned itself on and has 38% charge. I've done a format and reflashed to see if I can delete the (possibly corrupt) battery stats file. These tablets are crazy!!! Lucky! Ours stopped charging after the update to 4.0.4, would only do the single sho...

Re: Android 4 update - 101 G9 dead - and back alive

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, our display has still not come back on after many many hours on the charger. If it does, I will certainly try to adjust the screen settings to see if that helps it charge. I am beginning to lose hope though. Sigh, this might be an RMA.

Re: Android 4 update - 101 G9 dead - and back alive

Same problem with a G9 80 after the update. Ours is still not responding. Yours is really charging normally now?

Additional question, in case ours comes alive, when you say "I turned off the screen", how exactly do you mean? It didn't start charging properly until you did that?

Re: Firmware 4.04 released - report bugs here

After the update the unit stopped charging (even though it said 'charging' the charge level was going down.) Now it's fully discharged, and I'm just leaving it plugged in to hope it trickle charges.

Re: Firmware 4.04 released - report bugs here

Upgraded the easy way, power plugged in, said it was charging, but charge decreasing.
Then went into settings and did full init. Still not charging. Advice??

Re: Firmware 3.2.77 released

Display finally came on. Battery still registers at 0%. If it doesn't move will probably try some recovery procedure(s).

Update: Reset Android. Charge made it up to 2%! I'm sticking with 3.2.69. Hopefully this is a happy ending.

Re: Firmware 3.2.77 released

Our 80 is not powering on at all now (no display). Kept it on the charge overnight. The light blinked green at first but later went black. Now I have it attached to laptop via its usb cable, green blinking, nothing much else. Ubuntu doesn't 'see' the device, but maybe that's because it's not powered...

Re: Firmware 3.2.77 released

Problem after installing new firmware (timing is suspicious) - unit says charging, but stays at 0%. Any suggestions? Wonder if I should try falling back to prior firmware. Is it possible? G9 80 Classic Update: I did succeed in re-installing prior firmware (3.2.69). Tablet is now on charger, but disp...
