The problem that most people have with Archos comes from making them do more than they came with. Used as sold, they do pretty well. Some of their quirks are Android based rather than device based. I am able to record dvds to my sd card on the 5 and move that card to my 70 for playback. I can not speak for the experiences of others.

I have the a5a and the 70. I do record on my 5 on the sd card and play video on my 70 and my Optimus V phone. I had a 7 HT and could not play those recordings. I hope this info helps.

It was the SD card. After 3 reformats and installing different versions of the firmware, I swapped out the SD card and it worked. This was a real stumper that had everyone lost I suppose. Anyway, it works...I'm happy. Moving on.
